Straight outta the Army handbook, brother.

Step 1: Dig trench or foxhole. (Armpit deep, although I guess you can make it more shallow)

Step 2: Stack 2 log or other material behind you (opposite of desired firing direction) with supports so they do not fall.

Step 3: Put 1 log or other material in front to prop your gun up on.

Step 4: Make overhead cover using logs, planks, sticks, etc. Make sure to leave space between the roof and the 1 log in front so you can see and fire out of it.

Step 5: Camouflage your position and clear a range of fire. (Make sure not to go overboard on camouflage and only clear out what is necessary)

I've never done it myself, but it seems like a decent plan. Good luck!

My grandparents on my dad's side died before I was born. My mom's parents are still alive. Although my aunt on my mom's side died about 8 years ago of cancer.
