Help / Ghost Saves - (V20/V19 Issue)

To make this short, all of my V19 saves are saved to an endless void of space (as are my screenshots, some of my maps and some of my addons) and I can't retrieve them.

To make this long,


If I go into V19 and create a save, it saves and I can load it later.

If I go into V20 and create a save, it saves and I can load it later.


If I search for the V19 save ANYWHERE on my computer, there are no results.
If I go into Program Files (86)/Blockland (the file location for V19) and look for my saves, only the default saves are there from the default maps, albeit I have hundreds of saves from dozens of maps.
There are SOME of my addons and most of my maps located there, so it's not the wrong file.


If I search for the V20 save, it directs me to Documents/Blockland, the file location for V20. So, basically, my V19 saves are ghosts.


And before anyone asks any dumb questions:


YES, I have Hidden Files enabled.
NO, I am not a Luddite.
NO, I cannot just forget and abandon memories and projects embedded with my e-sweat and e-blood spanning the course of 4 years because of a minor technical difficulty.
YES, this issue has existed even before V20 was released (to my memory), so it's not likely that V20 has overridden my save files.


How might I be able to find my V19 files? I really want, no, NEED, to port over my saves to V20.


By the way - I spent 2 hours with half-a-dozen people on Teamviewer with this, so a common dandy with a two-sentence suggestion likely will not make an impact in my problem.

Help / Authentication: Validating Key...

So, two days ago, I took my computer into Best Buy because of some weird symptoms. Apparently, it got a major virus infestation, and in order to weed it out, they'd need to take it into the shop for 1-3 weeks. I agreed.

Then, I pulled out my old Vista - a Toshiba Satellite M505-S4940. It wasn't a gaming laptop, but hell, it could run Steam and Blockland - that was all I needed for the moment.
Steam worked fine.

When I tried launching Blockland, I found it was no longer on the computer - I must've uninstalled it. I downloaded the v19 installer and launched it.

I tried loading Multiplayer, only to be met with "connection failed" - I couldn't see any servers on the list, and the error message told me I wasn't connected to the internet.
"Ah," I thought, "I forgot to put in my key."

I loaded up my old email and retrieved the "key recovery" email - I copied and pasted my key into the authentication window.

"Full version unlocked!"
"Authenticating Key..."

It's been like that for two days. I don't know what's going on. My computer allowed Blockland to connect to the internet just last year, so it isn't a firewall problem.

Can anyone help?

emergencies.

GAH GO AWAY STEAM

To reassure yourself that there's at least one defense left, you stray into the master bedroom, neglecting to close the patio doors - let's hope that no infected get in while you're away.

"Okay...They're still here..." you say to nobody in particular, just hoping to comfort yourself. Finally you notice your intense thirst and head back into the main room.

You pick up the jug with great force, anticipating much more liquid then what it reveals; it almost slips out of your hands and onto the ceiling because of how lightweight it is, sinking your worries.

"No...No...It can't be... Not already..."

Your heart sinks into your stomach.
The bottle is dry.
The very last of your resources have been depleted.
Suddenly your thoughts are interrupted by a strange noise.

You hear slight thumps and many muffled snarls coming from both doors.

"stuff! Not now, not now," you hastily mutter to yourself as you attempt to barricade one door, searching for things to use to barricade the other.

You quickly scan the room - there's no more furniture you can use to barricade the back doo-

A zombie breaks through the back door, hastily ripping it apart. You only have a matter of seconds until the front door breaks open, too.
What do you do? And think fast! You don't know if you're immune, and you don't want to find out now!

Help / Blockland freezes on start-up.

(yes, I've searched for this with no helpful results before posting)

When I launch Blockland, it starts up as normal.

It initializes Base, it reads the programs, it starts openAL...then freezes.

Here's the last 4 lines of the console.

*2 hours later*

OpenAL

...


...

This has only been happening recently, and I can't start up blockland. I've re-installed, restarted, updated all my software (especially sound), everything, but to no avail.

Has anyone else has this? As far as I've searched, no one has posted getting this problem. How did you fix it? Thanks in advance.

Help / Blockland freezes on "OPENAL"

I've tried looking this up with no results, don't say "SEARCH OR GTFO".



It also worked nearly 5 hours ago. I've scanned for driver updates, looked at the websites for my programs that interfere with Blockland, restarted my computer 3 times, and reinstalled.


I have NO idea what else could be causing this.


-running windows 7 home edition, 2009-2010, if my memory serves-

So I start up blockland, it loads my add-ons, loads the engine, loads the other crap,

"OPENAL DRIVER INIT:
OPENAL"

*freezes*

I left it to sit there for 2 hours and nothing changed.

Whenever I start up BL, it goes "AUTO-UPDATING TO v17"

After that it closes. Every time I open it again.

No "auto-downloading" thing pops up like it asks.

Couldn't find this in the FAQ, so, yeah.

I'm organizing a team of builders to complete:
BLOXBERRY CROSSING.

We're attempting to rebuild a local mall in Blockland.

How is this unique?

Flatirons Crossing, as it is in Colorado, has a "Wild Ski-Lodge" theme.
Wooden "support" themes, ruggity rocks, and even a man-made creek and pond right outside of the main entrance.


From an apple store to a disney store, this mall rocks.
So I decided to rebuild it in Blockland.

I try to make a movie.
"Not enough free space to begin writing video!"
I look at my drive.

400 KB left
 

So I go into the fraps folder.
I select and scroll down for about 5 seconds.

"Would you like to delete these 647 items"? 
I do so.
I look at my disk space.

41.8 GB free. 
I have over 3/4ths little blue bar

How's that for a computer that's only 9 months old?

Help / Not connecting to #rtb (and disconnecting randomly)

Hello.




Oh, right! So, to the help topic.

Whenever I start up BL,
I open up IRC:
"Connecting...
Connected."

After that, it doesn't say "Joined #rtb". The log is just blank after it "connects".

So then I say "/join #rtb", but it seems like the enter key is defective in IRC... (The "send" button doesn't send it either. It just goes bloop.)

I've tried restarting BL about five times. I haven't installed any addons, either (or programs for that matter).

Can anyone help?

So, me and Nick are on Bushido's server.
He asks bushi for permission to build a TDM, since he "inspired" him.
I ask if I can help, as I say that he gave me a few ideas for a TDM also.

Later, on his server, I give him a crapload of ideas (from the mineshaft secret tunnel to the occasional avalanche).

The 3rd guy helping us asks what the "theme/time age" is in the TDM. Nick says "desert".
Then he asks the age in time.
He replies he doesn't know,

So I suggest a TF2-styled thing with the 9 classes and guns.

He says, "no, I'm using T+T"
I reply that T+T is kind of overused.

We get into a fight.
One of his main excuses is that T+T being overused isn't a fact, it's an opinion.
I reply that everyone uses T+T, so it's a fact.
He then goes "OMG not everyone uses T+T"
Then he proceeded to list EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO HAD VISITED HIS SERVER that didn't have T+T.

He listed about fourteen 24Ks.

He eventually PERMABANS me with the excuse:
"bitch, forget you. i use t+t and your ideas, you cant do anything aobut it"

Picture attached of a segment of the arguement. I haven't closed BL yet, so I can take more as proof.

Alxetora threatens to delete it.

Drama / xXpwntageXZ - The fourth grader who can't keep his mouth shut

So, I join a friend's freebuild. I see there is some pretty spammy airstrip type thing. It is made COMPLETELY of pre-given bricks. 32x32 baseplates, spammed with 16x1s, 4x1s, 2x1s as walls. I see it made by pwntage. Apparently, he is AFK. His BLID is in 20k. He finally comes back, and sends me full trust. I ask him why. He says "oh, sorry, it was an accident with the trust god". That's what sparked the conflict.

So, he asks people in the freebuild if they like his airstrip. I say no, it is spammy, you only used the default bricks.
He replies that "omg i a good builder i just need more bricks".  I inform him that you press B to get thousands of more bricks. He just says whatever.

<more conflict, more, more>
He says that "You are so annoying just like the kids in my class"
This rises a suspicion. "kids" "class" "annoying" are the keywords. Elementary School, anyone?
He then starts yelling at the host to "TELL HI TO SHUT SHUT UP" Luckily, the host (my friend) knew what was happening, and pretended to be afk.

Someone joins the server. Pwntage walks up to the hosts build and says "OMG THIS IS SO A ROBLOX BUILD lol jk its actualy really cool".
I ask him if he is a ROBLOX hater. He and the guy who connected say yes.
I tell them that ROBLOX-haters are just trolls. They never have a good reason for hating ROBLOX. He says that his reason is that I am gay. I tell him that "You just proved my point, little 2nd grader."
He then exclaims that he is in fourth grade, not second.

I think I've said enough. I perma banned him, though. The host clears his bricks.

Unfortunately, I added 4 (the max) pictures of what he is saying. It says the file size is too large. :c

There was "NO RTB" for the server, too.

If someone tells me how to attach pictures, then I'll sort through my screenshots to see if I took a few.

But this is 100% true.
It happened a few months ago, and I only got inspired to post it after another guy went about some drama topic in a server.
So, here it is.

*ahem*
Once upon a time...
A man named Error starts a 3 player max server for him and his friend.
Why 3 player? Because back then Error just got RTB and didn't know how to change server player limit in-game. So he wouldn't know if the friend wanted to invite one of his friends.

So, la dee da dee da. They are building some special office thingy for a secret project.
Then, some guy with a stupid name like "Cody4535346436346" or something comes in the server. He kind of is annoying, and I tell him the server is private. No responce. So I ban him for 5 minutes.
About 20 seconds later, he IRCs me.

"OMG! WHY DID U DO THT"
"Well, um, let's see. 1: You refused to go out of my private server. 2: You were being annoying."
*some small talk here that isn't important that I forget*
"DUD, U MADE ME CRY IN REAL LIE. >:("
"Woah. How old are you, 7?!"
"IM 9 U LITL PICE OF..."
"/ignore"

Then he sends me about 8 other messages before ragequitting. Because of /ignore, I didn't know what he said after that. Probably something like "im telling my mommy u litl meanie nub. i wil get u reportd by th servr admins and u wil be band from evry bl server olololololoololololololololol oluylhthyltrgr"
