So by simply planting a version.txt like that into my add-ons I can trick people using this into downloading fake updates that are actually different add-ons?

You could download stuff anyway.

This does not allow you to download new add-ons, only update existing ones of yours that have a version.txt file. The version file is only effective for the add-on it's in - only that .zip file will be written to.

Introducing a simple, easy-to-use update system for Blockland mods... Clients will be notified of updates when running either the Blockland client or the Blockland dedicated server.



Every add-on requires a file called "version.txt". This file contains a version number and the URL of a repository. Support_Updater will check the repository on startup to look for a newer version. When a new version is found, the user will be notified and will be able to download the new file.

Also includes support for change logs using special TML formatting.

It's really that easy! Just remember that your users need to have Support_Updater installed. I recommend making it a required add-on.

If you don't own a website, you can still use Support_Updater. You'll need a free account on either Bitbucket or Github.

hmmm... I can't find the "preferred players" setting. Am I missing something?

No, you can only have one flythrough. However, you can use "jumps" to go to different parts of the map. Take a look at the Help tab for better instructions.

Yes!  What's in that update?

It adds a "Require Enemy Players" option, so that people can't take flags of teams that are empty, a /dropFlag command, and tons of other little improvements. (I can't remember)

What exactly is a "flythrough"?

The camera flies through the map before each round to give players an overview of the battlefield.

The 3.8 release candidate just hit the updater. The biggest change since the last beta is the use of a new update system. This requires that a new add-on - Support_Updater - be installed. Slayer will prompt you and then download it automatically. As of right now there is no option to opt-out of updates.

I'm confused as to how you use the bots. Do you place a normal bot with a base colored like the team you want it to join?

These bots will spawn at normal people spawns. Just set the "Preferred Players" setting in the team panel.

Team bots from bot holes are coming later.

Ugh, that's a terrible old mod of mine. I don't recommend using it.

If you're using Slayer, set [Chat | Death Message Mode] to "Disabled" in the Advanced tab.

Do you have Slayer enabled? What happens if you disable it?
