Help / Re: Strange error message upon starting
« on: November 10, 2013, 10:37:42 AM »
Please ignore the above poster.

Make sure that you have internet access when running the game for the first time.

If that is not the problem, try navigating to your Blockland folder (in Documents) and deleting the file called "latestManifest".

Help / Re: Failed to verify BLID when joining servers.
« on: November 09, 2013, 11:41:02 PM »
First of all, she won't get very good results with that poor of a connection.

"Failed to verify BLID":
This is commonly caused when Blockland is run behind a proxy. (sometimes on the ISP's end)

To check if this is the problem, have her run this test and then report the results:

http://www.lagado.com/proxy-test | A good result will have no proxy. A bad result will show a proxy.

I have a feeling that her ISP filters traffic in some way because they have a very limited bandwidth through the satellite.

Help / Re: Blockland randomly disconnects when i am playing
« on: November 09, 2013, 11:33:00 PM »
You have a mod called Script_ServerSwitch. What does it do? Could that be disconnecting you?

The warning just means that when Blockland pinged the server, it got an unexpected result. It's not a problem.

There's three zombie mods that work with Slayer:
 - default zombies (hole bots - be sure to enable "Use All Players' Bricks")
 - Endless Zombies
 - ZAPT (adds options to the Advanced tab)

Let me guess. The player immediately falls through the ground at 20 Torque units per second squared.

Actually I think the game just crashes.

Should I hold onto my shotgun? You know, because down in the southern US we all have shotguns.

What? That was so random.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Slayer Bots

We just had a bot testing server up last night. It went pretty well. The eventual goal is to have bots that capture flags, go for control points, etc.

fair enough. maybe the player hitbox is a separate object and he deleted it or something? how do you think he went about it?

Something bad happens if you make a player w/o a hitbox.

Remove System_ReturnToBlockland from your Add-Ons folder and try again.

General Discussion / Re: Donation Systems for Servers

and why is it a law?
...okay that's pretty hard to answer sorry

Because that's how the government gets money?

Anyway, my point is that it's illegal for people to not report their donations and that it's very obvious if they don't report them since there's a huge paper trail via PayPal.

why do you need to report all income?

Do you live in the US? It's federal law.

wait

...why does it matter?
do they want taxes off of "donations"?

You're required to report all income, and donations are a form of income.

Can you run a trace? If the log is too big to attach, upload it to http://filedropper.com.

I doubt it. Badspot hasn't specifically said that no one but him can gain money from server donations/server hosting, so technically it would seem to be just as if a friend you know gave you $5 for being a good friend.

It still counts as income, though, and it's tax fraud if you don't report it. PayPal tells the IRS that they paid you a certain amount, and the IRS expects you to report that you received that amount.

Is there something it always crashes after? Like planting a brick?
