Is there a way to make it so that when you move with crouch, it drains the energy bar? Thanks.

Off Topic / I need help from a Mac! (WifiPad Compiling Issue)
« on: December 26, 2009, 09:53:48 PM »
I've been messing with Ipod apps and I stumbled upon an app named WifiPad. It's basically a gamepad that you are able to customize by adding your own skins that can have more or less buttons. I've created my own skin, but I've run into a problem. I have to compile it using "AR" into a .gamepad file. This is kinda hard to explain so I'll quote it (Quote author is the link to the main page if you need more info):
Quote from: http://www.wifipad.com/manual.html
Creating the .gamepad file

A .gamepad file is an archive of the gamepad.txt and png images. The standard AR format is used and thus, you can use the 'ar' tool on Mac OS X or Linux. A copy of AR for windows may be available in the MinGW distribution. To make the gamepad, use the commandline:

(MacOSX):
Quote
ar -Tr mygamepad.gamepad gamepad.txt image.png image1.png image2.png ...

Others:
Quote
ar -r mygamepad.gamepad gamepad.txt image.png image1.png image2.png ...

Notice that only historical ar format works. That means each filename can be at maximum 15 characters long. WifiPad does not understand long filenames!

I am unable to do it myself because I can't get MinGW working to save my life. I have no idea how to set it up and I don't have a Mac. Here is where you come in. I need someone with a Mac to compile it. If you can, PM me and I'll send you the files to compile. If you can't, I'd at least like some help on setting up MinGW so I can do it myself.

Thanks.

Suggestions & Requests / Revive TDM (Game Mode Addon)
« on: December 25, 2009, 06:46:23 PM »
There would be the standard TDM modes (TDM, Siege, CTF, etc) but instead of respawning, they go into a "downed" mode. This basically means that they are "dead" but can be revived.  Putting all enemy players in this downed mode would win the round. To revive a player, another player would have to click on the downed player 20 times to revive them. Players can only be revived 3 times, after that, they die and don't respawn.

Modification Help / Mobile Suit Mod (On Hold, temporarily)

[Mobile Suit Mod]
[Name Pending]

[About this Mod]

I've been working on this for quite some time and finally decided to sit down and finish it. So while digging through my files, I discovered I had deleted them all! So I'm starting from scratch and I am hoping to make this better than what it was. This will be a big mod, so I will be releasing it in "eras". They are as follows:

1. Gundam Wing:
2. Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz
3. Mobile Suit Gundam/08th MS Team

There will possibly be more (Probably none from G Gundam).

[Help]
I'm going to need help with a few things scripting-wise (Mainly a "dash" type movement) and I'll need help with animations as I have never done them.

[Suggestions]
If you are going to post a suggestion, please read over what I have written so far so you don't post something I already have down.

Mainly, I need weapon suggestions and mobile suit suggestions, but feel free to suggest other things. Not all suggestions will be implemented.

[WIP]
This is what I'm working on at the moment:
Wing Gundam's Rifle

Games / Best Gamecube Games
« on: December 14, 2009, 04:36:46 PM »
I've put a lot of thought into which system was my very favorite, and I think I'm going to have to go with the Gamecube. It was the first game system I really saved up for and purchased everything with my own money. I remember I wasn't actually able to buy a memory card, so I left my Gamecube on for a month so I wouldn't lose my progress in Super Smash Bros Melee (Which I think was by far the greatest one). All the Nostalgia made me go dig up my old Gamecube and play some of my games. I want to hear what your opinions are about which games were the greatest and a small reason behind it. I'll start it off:

Super Smash Bros. Melee - Was a perfected version of the N64 game with additional characters and levels that fit perfectly into the game. New items such as the super scope, metal box, clocking device, bunny hood and others made items more of a necessity because of the advantage you could gain from them. You could play for hours, weeks, months, even years and the game would still have the same great gameplay it had when you first started. Not to mention all the secrets and glitches that were loads of fun to discover.

Now it's your turn.

Suggestions & Requests / REQUEST: Spoon
« on: December 08, 2009, 08:04:00 PM »
I want a spoon weapon for an upcoming mod I'm doing. Please make it like a tablespoon, but Blocko. Also, 2-hits to kill. Please and Thank You.

P.S. If you are unable to script, I'll do that, I mostly need the model as my modeling programs are not working.

Off Topic / Concert
« on: December 05, 2009, 10:43:54 AM »
Last night, I went with 11 other friends to the August Burns Red/UnderOath/Emery concert and man it was AWESOME!
After school yesterday, we all met in got in this big van we borrowed and made our way to Grand Rapids, MI. 2 1/2 hour drive there, got there at around 5:50-6:00 (Doors open at 6:30) and jumped out into the cold without our jackets on. After finally getting in after losing feeling in my feet, we walked into the stage room and ended up in the very center (Where the mosh pit ended up being). We stood around, waiting for everyone to get in. Everyone piled in (Pretty crammed, tons of people smoking which sucked), and the Emery came out. They were pretty good, not much happened, a few people moshed but it was pretty calm. The next band was August Burns Red, and things got crazy. People started to REALLY mosh during the SOUND CHECK! They started up and things went nuts. We moshed, I crowd surfed, headbanged, etc. By the time it was over, everyone was super tired. Quite a few people left so it helped with the space issue. Then UnderOath came out and played a ton of songs. People weren't moshing as hard like they did during ABR, but there was more than just push moshing. After they were done, everyone was chanting "1 more song!" They came back out and played TWO more songs, both songs were my 2 favorite songs (I was disappointed that they didn't play them during the concert). When they were done, the drummer threw is drumsticks and my friend got one. We bought T-shirts and left after that. Slept most of the way back, got in my car and drove home. My ears were still ringing from the Awesome.

As for injuries I got, my neck is sore from head banging and the center of my back hurts from when I went crowd surfing and I landed on some kids head. HARD.

Post your concert stories.

Games / Multiplatform Languages?
« on: October 11, 2009, 02:28:36 PM »
I've decided that I really want to learn a language this winter when I have nothing to do, and I want to learn one that doesn't apply just for computers. I've had an idea for a while for a game I want to make and I just now finished planning it all out on paper, so now comes the starting phases of the game. I want it to be a multiplatform game that will be for the PC, iPod Touch, PSP, and DS (Possible for the Mac also, but mostly for the ones I listed). I'd like if it was a mainstream language, but any that will fit those 4 easily are fine. Also, just the name of the language is fine, I'm capable of doing some research on my own, it just hard starting from scratch.

Off Topic / Anti-Virus Programs
« on: August 22, 2009, 10:41:10 PM »
I used to have Charter Security Suite, but because I just had to wipe my HDD and reinstall windows due to the thing not scanning correctly and letting the virus spread everywhere, I need a new one. I'd like if it wouldn't slow my computer down like my old one and if it was free. Please suggest free ones as I am cheap and broke.

Suggestions & Requests / [Request] Tank Vehicle Tutorial
« on: August 22, 2009, 09:35:39 PM »
I'm trying to make 2 tank vehicles and I am really wondering if my guesswork is correct. If someone could make a tutorial explaining joints, bones, creating a turret, and adding a script, that would be mighty helpful.
