Well viruses aren't typically illegal, and what they do isn't usually illegal.

True. My mistake.

What is it? And shouldn't this be in the Gallery?

Untrue. Viruses are created for many reasons. Advertising, data collection, fraud, and most frequently, malicious activities. Botnets, for example, are viruses that can direct bandwidth (conficker) for advertising sites or even taking sites down. Some people make them to prove a point.

That's kinda what I meant by reason 1. I guess I didn't explain as well as I thought.

Also hackers usually hack just for fun.

Not in my experience. While a hacker might be having fun, they usually have a goal in mind other than hacking for the sake of hacking. Usually it's for manipulation. I.E. Jailbreaking the iPhone, Custom Firmware for the PSP, Custom Drive Firmware for the Xbox, cheating in a game, free software/products, etc. That is unless you count those things as modding and not hacking.

ALSO for both of these parties, there's the white-hat group that does that stuff for good, finds security holes for companies and stuff like that.

Didn't mention that because I thought it was irrelevant to the topic.

How are those Nerf swords Ladios? Friend's kid wants one for his birthday.

They're softer than those foam Nerf bats, but just as sturdy. They hurt just enough to where you want to block the hits, but are soft enough to where you can swing as hard as you can and not really injure them. Very fun to mess around with. Come this summer, a bunch of my friends and I are going to buy a ton of them and start LARPing. Thoraxe the Impailer!

We planned to keep it private. Give it to a few trusted people but that's it.

Don't let it die if you finish it.

People that create viruses do it for 1 of 2 reasons.
1. They are trying to steal info or some other illegal action
2. To mess with people.

If a company says that they don't have viruses, people will create them because of a lack of knowledge, so it's easier to fly under the radar. Or they will create them just to spite the company. Why do you think hackers hack? Either because they want something out of it or just because they can.

I'm pretty sure google could help you out there. Now one thing google won't help me with is getting a definite answer on how to make my crosshairs on my scope not blurry. Some say I need to adjust the eye piece, others say I need a new lens, and some say I'm too close to my target.

From what I know, it's probably in the eye piece. try looking through the opposite end and see if it's blurry too. If not, than it has something to do with the eye piece. This, of course, is a total guess, and I'll ask my friend when I see him tomorrow as he is knowledgeable on these things.

Also, my custom gun won't be a sniper, so don't tell me that snipers suck. I know this. I'm just looking for something I can shoot long range, but if I get into a tight spot, I can shoot my way out without using a bolt. Also, it I probably need to have a rail to mount a scope on.

Anyone have any idea on how to build custom guns? I've gotten somewhat bored of airsoft, and building a gun would be a very fun way to get back into it. I want to make a semi-auto "rifle" with a large clip. I want it to have the accuracy of a sniper (more or less, I really just want it to shoot far without curving too badly), the clip of an assault rifle (At least 200 bb's), and powered by some form of gas.

One school day, a boy named Tom was sitting in class and doing math. It was six more minutes until after school. As he was doing his homework, something caught his eye.
His desk was next to the window, and he turned and looked to the grass outside. It looked like a picture. When school was over, he ran to the spot where he saw it. He ran fast so that no one else could grab it.
He picked it up and smiled. It had a picture of the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. She had a dress with tights on and red shoes, and her hand was formed into a peace sign.
She was so beautiful he wanted to meet her, so he ran all over the school and asked everyone if they knew her or have ever seen her before. But everyone he asked said "no." He was devastated.
When he was home, he asked his older sister if she knew the girl, but unfortunately she also said "no." It was very late, so Tom walked up the stairs, placed the picture on his bedside table and went to sleep.
In the middle of the night Tom was awakened by a tap on his window. It was like a nail tapping. He got scared. After the tapping he heard a giggle. He saw a shadow near his window, so he got out of his bed, walked toward his window, opened it up and followed the giggling. By the time he reached it, it was gone.
The next day again he asked his neighbors if they knew her. Everybody said, "Sorry, no." When his mother came home he even asked her if she knew her. She said "no." He went to his room, placed the picture on his desk and fell asleep.
Once again he was awakened by a tapping. He took the picture and followed the giggling. He walked across the road, when suddenly he got hit by a car. He was dead with the picture in his hand.
The driver got out of the car and tried to help him, but it was too late. Suddenly he saw the picture and picked it up.
He saw a cute girl holding up three fingers.

What happens when it gets past 10?

Will the Podcasts be just "re-runs" of your shows? If so, that would be very cool. Let's say I was unable to listen to it when you did it live, but really wanted to see it. Having a recording for download would be very cool.

Thank you so much for the people that explain shock sites in detail. I'd rather imagine it than see it any day of the week. Cheers to you, you brave de-shockers!

I love the creepy stories that start out with a boring starting (i.e. Last month I spent six months...)  and end with something that would give nothing away (...I hear it still - a little louder now), but all the parts in the middle force you into a mindset of trepidation as soon as you reach the climax, making the whole story worth reading.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: MINI GAME PLAYERSCALES
« on: January 30, 2010, 08:09:44 PM »
That's sounds do-able, if relatively pointless and time-consuming for no reason.
It's easy enough to have have a brick that sets player scale when starting.

Of course the people will start out large to begin with, and you don't want that distracting others, so why not build a little box far off out of the way. Then inside that box, place the Playerspawns.
Once the person spawns at full size, they click a button inside the box, which proceeds to set the playerscale as well as teleport them to the miniature area.

Of course you'll need "Setplayertransform" events to do this, but it should work and would save you requiring a completely new edit to the Mini-Game Gui, as well as keeping your miniature area clean of giant people.

Or instead of a "brick", you could make a door that, when activated, teleports the player to the start point while resizing them.
