Damn, my motherboard is beautiful. Only complaint I have is it doesn't have IPMI 2.0 built in and requires this loving abomination.

Can't sell it
Can't show it off
What's the point in stealing it?

Drama / Re: Val - Why Isn't He Banned?

IMO blhack actually helped weed out the problem players and helped show the worst in people. The aimbot was pretty useless unless you used a raycasting weapon and even then it was VERY obvious and any player that used it got banned from the server in minutes. The only real damaging feature of the hack was the server crasher, and pretty much everybody who used the crasher got their key revoked and are now ban-on-sight.

I just wished he put a backdoor in the hack so anybody that used it got their files deleted to go along with getting their key revoked.

Next time you install windows unplug every single drive except for the one you're trying to install Windows on. Seems overly precautious but trust me, Windows installation is handicapped. It installed my boot volume on my Steam harddrive instead of my SSD that Windows was actually on so whenever I unplugged my Steam drive I couldn't boot from my SSD.

I remember in an LTT video Linus even said he's had this happen.

As great as it is to have completely customizable colors, brick shapes, and rotations please keep in mind the load times and memory usage or hundreds of thousands of bricks won't be obtainable.
For example, in Blockland a single brick is between 136 to 141 bits to send over the network. That breaks down to 1 bit for if it is planted, 2 bits for ShapeFX and AngleID, 3 bits for the ColorFX, 6 bits for the ColorID, 12 bits for the datablock, 15-20 bits for the ghost ID, and 96 bits for the position of the brick. To download the info from the server for 200,000 bricks would be around 27Mb of info.

One thing I'm worried about is the optimization for the bricks. Sure you have 10,000 bricks being rendered at a decent framerate, but that's a far cry from the million bricks that Blockland can render with no sweat. Are you working towards octree rendering?
Will the bricks support tessellation in the future?

Modification Help / Re: fxLight to follow shot projectile

For the onFire function, the first field is the datablock for the weapon image, the second field is the player object (hence why it's attaching to the player instead of the projectile) and the third is the slot the item is in. If you want to attach a light to the projectile you'll have to manually create the projectile and attach the light to it after creating it.

  • Don't let baseplates determine the size or shape of your build
  • Don't put 2 doors directly across from eachother
