Well I do agree about user reviews to a point but critic reviews aren't exactly honest anymore. A large amount of the time sites like IGN and gamespot get bribed into giving certain games good reviews and even get bribed to give other games bad reviews.
Eh, the large majority of critic reviews are pretty honest - it's just a couple of the really big names give the other critics a bad rep.

Really excited (but wary since Rocksteady isn't in it this time) for Origins. Multiplayer sounds interesting.

The guys over at VideoGamer have actually played the multiplayer mode so you can listen to what they think about it here:
http://youtu.be/_MD2ETetF2U?t=55s

Multiplayer can be coop, right?
Multiplayer is 3v3v2 only sadly, but I guess in the fact that you're in teams it's sort of cooperative but not a coop campaign like what tails said (which would be awesome).

I would rather have coop campaign rather then a multiplayer mode that's been done before and nobody will play after a while and will take resources away from the singleplayer.
It's actually a pretty interesting concept having three teams in 3v3v2. Also no resources are getting taken away from SP as they are outsourcing another company to do multiplayer I believe. :D

People hate that it's just hats

Hats don't make the game more interesting

For most people at least
I was under the impression that Overmind just hates having added hats in general, even when it's next to other things.
I never said I enjoy just hats, I said so long as it's next to other content I'm fine with it since there's almost no negative.

Do you guys not count the giant list of fixes content? Maybe that's where we differ and if so fair enough I guess. :P

You and an exclusive group called "everyone"

edit: except freeze apparently but he's a member of the Unpopular Opinion Club
do people really not like hats getting added even when it's along side other stuff? i thought people were okay with it so long as there is other stuff along side it (unlike the boogaloo which i didn't like either). do you guys actually hate hats getting added or just the fact that other things aren't getting added?

I hate the hat to weapon/map ratio
agree with this but i'm assuming we're gonna get some weapons and/or maps within the next couple of months so i was okay with the more recent one being less hat/weapon based and just having really good fixes. wouldn't be surprised if we got a big content update in two weeks or so, and if not halloween will probably be good (if lecture valley hasn't come out by then i'd say it comes out at halloween what with tentacle bread n such).

I could tell you why I consider it the worst COD game of all time but I will let the USER reviews speak for themselves.

sorry are you rooting for metacritic or not?
i guess you're fine with user scores and not critic scores
but that's not really fair considering metacritic user scores are pretty biased as a ton of people go on there and either give the game 0s just for no reason or give it 10s for no reason

anyway, the reason video game crashes happen is because there were so many bad games that a ton of people were spending money making really bad games and then nobody was buying them cause they were so bad. call of duty still sells tons even if it is bad in our eyes.

And call of duty: modern warfare 3 has a 88%. Yet the game is a piece of steaming stuff
It's considered a good game by many. I don't like it but I can see why a lot of people do.

Actually no. The reason the crash in 1984 happened was because there were too many stuffty games and stuffty game consoles that no one could tell the good from the bad. So more good games and less stuffty games is a GOOD thing.
You can't compare this anywhere near as much since back then none of it was digital. Now nowhere near as much money is lost if games are bad, especially if it's a digitally exclusive release.

Fez II also probably wouldn't be generally considered a stuffty game as many people wanted it and I think Phil would have done a good job. Yes, you have the right to say you don't enjoy Fez but it was generally received as a good game (getting 91 for the PC version on metacritic) and as I said before there's almost no doubting it was technically a good game (whether you actually enjoy it or not is a different thing).

tl;dw but i'm sure i can guess at its contents
real question: who is this and why should their opinion matter
it's more an explanation than an opinion
and really you can't ask that considering nobody's opinion really matters (including yours) other than the people actually involved, it's a discussion point. if you don't want to discuss opinions don't bother reading the thread as pretty much all of it is opinions.

I never said that the community was bad. Fitting 60+ robotic reskins of already existing hats into a single crate is just...horrible.
Why? There is no negative to doing it since it's so easy now unless you're a hat collector and they can't restrict content just so you can have the satisfaction of collecting every virtual hat in the game. If you honestly think that's a valid reason then you're just selfish.

Nearly doubling the number of hats in one update is really shortsighted.
How?

You mentioned "new contents." Sure, I'm kinda alright with doubling the number of hats and throwing in reskins as long as there are new contents, but there aren't much.
The most recent update had a TON of fixes that were needed and it was great.

the whole idea of paying $1 for a round of game is really tacky
Yeah it's a pity it's not completely optional to pay and the only benefit for paying are rewards at the end in the form of cheap weapons and hats.
Oh wait that's completely how it works.

lack of leaver-punishing system made the gamemode easily abandoned by people. At certain times, MvM (Mann up mode) queue takes more than several hours because nobody is playing.
Where do you live? In the UK it takes minutes to find a game and in the US I'd assume it's the same.

Anybody else tired of TF2's giant ass hat updates?
Nope, so long as we get other content besides it it's fine for me.

but blindly adding ALL items uploaded on community workshop is really lazy.
They aren't doing that at all though? They even had a blog post about how they select things. I don't see how it's lazy at all. They created the item importer so they could spend time making OTHER stuff for the game. It's hard for a five man team to work on loads of things at the same time.

I really don't want Yogscast helping us, seeing as their fanbase is a bunch of small children who aren't quite mature enough for this game.
there's a difference between not being mature enough for the game and not being mature enough for the community

He even told Edmund McMillen, creator of Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac, and a few others, that his games would fail.
That was clear sarcasm/playfulness though? Edmund and Phil always fake-hate each other but even on Edmund's formspring he says he likes him really. Stop making points about things you don't know the details of.

This isn't the only time he's explained stuff like this I believe, just the most recent one I could find.

well he was under the impression that nintendo only does carbon copies.

the thing is, they do carbon copies and stuffty remakes (with a few gems)

no matter what happens, people will criticize.
i think that's what he meant in his original post
like, they do copies because when they try anything new it just fails

if they dont change anything then why did paper mario crash and burn?

paper mario 1: wow, cool, it's like mario rpg but better!
paper mario 2: what the rooster! my teammates have health and there's even more to explore! stuff YEAH
paper mario 3: turn based fighting is out? uh, okay. Less like before, but okay...
paper mario 4: remember how the original had partners, flower points and badges? forget THAT stuff, STICKERS. YEAH STICKERS, LET'S PLAY A GAME THAT FORCES ME TO USE MY BEST SPELLS WHEN I ENTER BATTLE.

the only carbon copies I've been seeing are the "New super mario bros." series. They're loving terrible except the first, DS one. The rest of them were a fiery train derailment that lead to a stale nintendo.
you just reinforced his point? unless im reading something wrong

Someone had an AMAZING idea on Facepunch:

Quote from: Facepunch Person
I always thought about how TF2 would work if they had a comic where each class was kidnapped one by one. Coinciding with the daily(?) comic, the class that was kidnapped would be unavailable to play as.

The novelty of it would be good until like 3 hours of playing, which is a shame :c

This... would actually make for an interesting ARG.

Without warning one day, one class goes missing. On the class select screen, they're simply listed as MIA. Equipping the Medic with the Sherlock Holmes set and hovering over that character on the load-out screen would reveal a clue. Give the Administrator shifty, suspicious new lines. Maybe even have the Administrator HERSELF go missing one day, with Pauling replacing her and using some "archival recordings" to try and keep the game continuing as usual.

This continues, maybe even a class being removed every couple of hours, until Medic is all that's left and something drastic in the game changes, like the title screen being replaced with a silhouette of Gray Mann and all references to the title removed.

Something to really give us that "Oh, stuff" feeling of the days before MvM.

Best way this would work is if it was Valve servers only, with server options to enable (or even disable so it's on by default) it on your own servers. That way you could still have some regular servers for the people that don't want to play in a weird way.
