I reclaimed a already made fort and quite a way into my session realised that here was a huge place underneath me that I hadn't explored
im moving everything into it but I dont know how to organize it at all.

-snip-

If anyone has any ideas on how to sort this please do tell me
I can get rid of most of the forges also because theres like 50 in total and ill never use that much
and the bedrooms are kinda obvious but apart from that everything needs building
Its so good and I have no idea what to do
I wish I had this much space in my current fort. With the last wave of immigrants my population doubled to 40 which I didn't expect. There isn't enough bedrooms or food, one dead and one injured dwarf due to insanity and a mining accident (Thank god some of the new dwarves have medical skills).

It is time to build a sacrificial altar and throw parties while peasants burn to death.

bump.
anything new?
Not really.

I got the Russian Weapon pack and whenever i scroll to a different item after using the Russian weapon I auto zoom super far
If it zooms in all the way something broke. If it resets to a FOV of 90, I can't really fix that. There is no way for the server to know a clients default FOV.

Yesterday there has been an update that fixes movement lag of characters. You don't teleport around anymore and the movement is smooth for the most part.

Toying around with terrain generation. I want to increase the amount of detail, but for some reason the normals forget up above a certain amount of polygons.

I started playing fortress mode as my adventurer broke with the update. My first fortress starved, the second got slaughtered by a giant bat, the third I abandoned because absolutely no immigrants came. My current fortress is basically a small castle, with half the stuff being underground. Two dwarves died in accidents. One dwarf was so sad about the second one that he spent days sitting at the river staring into the water. And right now I'm waiting out a tiny gobling siege as I have no soldiers yet.

I can't wait for more immigrants, forcing me to expand into the glorious lands of infinite fun.

But I put so many points into armor user, shield user, and dodger.
My current adventurer has superhuman agility, is a proficient dodger and managed to dodge every single bolt/arrow that has been fired at him.

Currently I'm trying to clean out a necromancer tower. The necromancer died first, but three trips and five or so companions later not even the first room is clear yet.

I have yet to discover a titan, or any big mean creatures.

My most recent adventurer was a skilled dodger and observer, which allowed me to dodge and counter about every attack, quickly striking down enemies with swift dagger stabs. I spawned at some town which was being attacked by vile humanoid creatures. Quickly slaughtered them. Apparently my adventurer was so horrified by the sight of fellow humans being brutally murdered that she started crying, and never stopped until her death. After wandering around for a bit I attacked two small goblin fortresses. The first one was easy, but one or two goblins escaped. They ran off to the second fortress nearby and the moment I stepped out on its highest floor about 5 or so goblins started beating me to death. Luckily they stopped at some point and just ran away. Having lost the ability to walk and being seriously injured, I made my way back to the nearest town. Spent some time wandering around to let the wounds heal. Seeking revenge for what they did to my poor adventurers legs, I headed for the mountains again. I visited some dwarf settlements and went on to the next fortress which was home to both dwarves and goblins. The moment I shouted my name in the entrance hall all the goblins started climbing the walls. So I went on and started killing them. After taking the first goblins knife (I had lost my weapons at the tower) and killing him with it the dwarves started attacking me. They were no match for my adventurer, who dodged almost every single attack. Once the entrance hall was clear I went down. The fortress was huge and had too many dwarves and goblins to slay them all, so I decided to retreat. Spread stories of the horrific deeds of "Omo Creamchapel the Safe Meanness of Stalkers", became some lords hearthperson and decided to check out another lair since all the ones I've seen so far were empty. Not suspecting anything, I crawl straight to the entrance and am suddenly dead, slain by a shadow creature. I only died because the game doesn't stop when you hold down a movement button and you suddenly get or are about to get attacked. I guess I'll be more careful in the future.

Yeah, undead seem to be really wonky in this version thanks to the fact they seem to bug out and attack their masters and/or their supposed "friends".

40.03 is now here.Hooray, even more stable than before!
It's gonna be hell waiting for mods to update to the new version though.

On a different note, stealth is definitely OP, as are swords, of all things. I went around as a swordsman with novice ambushing skill and managed to kill a few towns(about 200 people total) before I managed to get decapitated by the local band of night creatures because I slept in the wrong house. Interestingly enough, swords seem to be basic lightsabers and cut anything they touch to pieces 90% of the time.
Did the townsfolk even try to fight? I went though towns before, killing everyone with absolutely no resistance.

Stairs are death traps. I went up a goblin tower, the moment I peeked out on the top floor I fell unconscious and got almost beaten to death. Funnily enough, instead of killing me they just left me there with some broken bones.

Expect this often, especially in DF, because ranged users seem to be ridiculously OP, especially in the new version since any projectile shot seems to knock anyone out to have even more stuff in their guts, at least until the shooter either runs out of ammo or the target dies.

Also: It was inevitable.
Probably should've grabbed some buddies as meatshields :P

Also this game is freaky holy stuff. I went to some place, looking for a beast. After arriving there I went goat hunting as I was low on food. A short pursuit later my necromancer dwarf and crossbowman were filling a goat with bolts while I was slashing at it. It went down quickly, I decapitated and butchered it. Right after I was done the goats headskin came back to life and attacked us. Now it's rolling around in circles being chased by my necrodwarf.

Now I'm wondering if my necrodwarf is responsible for the undead headskin and if I should get rid of him. Imagine slaying a great beast, barely escaping death only to have parts of it coming back to life.

I remember trying DF long ago. Tried to make a fortress couple of times but didn't come very far and gave up on it. Picked it up again yesterday and tried the Adventure Mode, going around killing everything half the time.

After finding out that a necromancer nearby is harassing people I dragged my shiny new adventurer to that guys tower. I peeked inside and all the zombies came rushing out. I was able to cut one necromancers head off with the first swing, but the zombies overwhelmed me and choked me to death. So I made another adventurer, and headed for the tower again. A minute after I entered a city to replenish my water supplies it got flooded, killing probably everyone including my poor guy. I gave up on the tower as the game started crashing whenever I got near and went on purging a goblin fortress. Killed 57 of them, but three or so escaped. Didn't feel like chasing them as it was almost night. The next day one ambushed "Utes Quillheals the Disemboweled Savior of Murders", killing him instantly with an arrow to the head.

i would host a dedicated server but sadly my computer had blown up not too long ago.
Are you planning to get a new one anytime soon?

What makes that great is the face. Also, why is there no nukes yet.
No nukes for you.

What if somebody's looking out the front hatch and the cannon fires?  :cookieMonster:

You can get it working with pastebin for the repository and dropbox for the storage. (Although that sounds like a bad idea)
That somebody will go deaf and catch fire :cookieMonster:

I can put the repository files on my webhost, and I think it should work with mediafire.
