Forum Games / Roll to Hit - vREBIRTH [GAME IS NOW ACTIVE]
« on: October 16, 2013, 03:59:24 PM »
So since Ben Watt's topic got shutdown due to "homework", I thought I'd let everyone else continue in a new game in a fair, nice way.

There will be 8 slots available for players. Once those 8 slots are filled up, the game will begin.

I will be using RANDOM.ORG's dice roller for all rolls in the game (1 die roll).

PLAYERS:
Shell - HP: 53/53 Status: Normal
childofdarkness016 - HP: 53/53 Status: Normal
SirLancelot7 - HP: 78/78 Status: Normal
Doughboy - HP: 78/78 Status: Normal
CharlesSpeaking - HP: 53/53 Status: Normal
Demopan? - HP: 48/53 Status: Normal

Drama / Ben Watts - Being seriously butthurt lately
« on: October 16, 2013, 07:34:25 AM »
I've been noticing that Ben Watts has being really butthurt or unfair on a lot of topics lately.

It first happened in one of my Board Game Online matches where he missed his chance to join, so he left and waited for another one. I created a new one, didn't get to join, and pretty much raged because he didn't get a chance to join twice. And personally, I think that's a stupid reason to rage.

Then, I noticed he was acting up in his Roll to hit! thread.

[Twerking childofdarkness016 - 6]
You get too much attention, and um...

Become Miley Cyrus.

Added "Twerking" effect.
You must now use each 2 turns to release a bad music video and twerk.
I thought this was kinda funny at first, then another 6 got rolled.

[Twerking childofdarkness016 - 6]
You end up twerking instead, forgetting about anything before.
This seemed like it was on purpose, so I just waited to see if it actually was.

[Twerking childofdarkness016 - 3]
Your Twerking business is now extended to one time each 3 turns.

Now wait just a second. 3 in the game means a kinda success. Not a kinda fail or fail. So why does this seem like a fail?

Then all of a sudden, the thread gets shut down due to "Homework". I'm believing it's because he's mad because of all the people in the game disagreeing with him because he's being unfair.

Then, I posted in his "Think of a substance before entering this topic" saying it was old and annoying. Then, he just said:

Quote from: Ben Watts
Then do not post in it.

Now locking because of forgeters haters.[/url]

And I was the only one who posted in there and gave my opinion. I can't have an a opinion nowadays?

Then someone named "chaos 2" posted in his Cookie Clicker thread asking to put in the dungeon beta for Cookie Clicker.

He replied with:
loving fine...

So what's the reason to rage over a single question?

And that's what I've been noticing about Ben Watts (no pun intended) lately.
I bet there's more stuff out there, I just haven't found it. This is just what I've found from threads he's created, and a few of my Board Game Online games.

Off Topic / Omgili - forum discussion tracker
« on: October 15, 2013, 05:36:39 PM »
So apparently I found this thing that tracks forum threads and makes randomly generated info based on posts, users, etc.

I'm not advertising forums, although this may pick up forums, so try not to add links that may link to the sites shown in your pictures.

I first discovered this when I googled my username and found my old thread when my dad was away.

The info may be old for some reason, because it says there is only 15 posts, when I know there is more than that.

And also Ad Bot adds a post to the info for some reason. And is also trying to be another user.

So post screenshots (no links due to the advertising rule) and links.

Corruptus is a site which allows you to take any jpeg or gif and turn it into a completely glitched out image. There are several kinds of settings, possiblities, and it all depends on what you pick. This site is mainly for making glitch gifs, by using the images generated.

Go try it out, post the gifs/pics you've made here.

Off Topic / Blockland anime intros?
« on: October 13, 2013, 12:28:12 AM »
So lately I've been on the synchtube and have been noticing a significance of anime intros with the character's faces replaced with the avatars of some of the members here on the forums.

1st: why am I not in one of these : (

2nd: Where can I find more of these? They're really humorous and funny to me.

3rd: How can I make my own? Would love to make one with some of the people I think are cool on here.

If you can answer some of these questions, that would be great.

Off Topic / Cannot get server to work (portforwarding problem)
« on: October 12, 2013, 12:52:55 PM »
I am not on the computer that has the problem or network, but I'll edit this when I have the ports and router model available. I'll just say it's a Belkin.

I have set up ports for different games, Garry's Mod, Terraria, Minecraft, TF2, and CS:S (Garry's Mod ports have all of TF2 and CS:S's ports taken care of).

However, I have 2 problems: One with hosting, and one with the router itself.

I'll talk about the router first: It's really really buggy. When I tried adding a 6th port, it gave me a error. Tried changing it, still the same thing. When I exited and went back, it copied a entire port setting to EVERY EMPTY BOX THAT WASN'T 1-5. I deleted it, but that's really, really annoying. Why do I have this kind of buggy thing? However this was before a firmware update, so this may have changed.

And the hosting problem: I set up the ports, and tried hosting a CS:S SRCDS server with the setting -ip 192.168.2.7 in my shortcut. However, it errored out with "Couldn't allocate any server port" and exited. I tried Bukkit, tried joining, wouldn't connect to my public IP. Tried Terraria, and still nothing.

What am I doing wrong? I set the private IP's area to 192.168.2.7 in the router settings, and the port ranges were right, and I set all of them to TCP/UCP.

I will update this when I get back onto my network and get back to my house, as I am at someone else's house right now.

Games / Rhythm Game Megathread
« on: October 09, 2013, 06:40:21 PM »

What is a rhythm game?
A rhythm game is a game that involves music and hitting notes or another object charted to the song. Many of these were made in different countries, some for the arcade, some for home, and some on the PC. Some involve playing with your hands, while some involve your feets, and SOME involve full body movements (not dance central or just dance).

Rhythm Game Series (that are well known and good)

Dance Dance Revolution

Games (in order)
Arcade: Dance Dance Revolution (1998), Dance Dance Revolution 2ndMix, Dance Dance Revolution Best of Cool Dancers, Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMix, Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMix Plus, Dance Dance Revolution 4thMix, Dance Dance Revolution Kids, Dance Dance Revolution 4thMix Plus, Dance Dance Revolution 5thMix, DDRMAX/Dance Dance Revolution 6thMix, DDRMAX2/Dance Dance Revolution 7thMix, Dance Dance Revolution Extreme, Dance Dance Revolution SuperNova, Dance Dance Revolution SuperNova 2, Dance Dance Revolution X, Dance Dance Revolution X2, Dance Dance Revolution X3, DanceDanceRevolution (2013)

Windows: (one exists, I used to own it. Think it's just Dance Dance Revolution.)

iOS: Dance Dance Revolution S, Dance Dance Revolution S+

(there are a LOT more but I'm not going to finish this list anytime soon)

Info
Originally started as a arcade game. Created and developed by Konami. Help or created (?) by Bemani.

How to play
Four arrows are on screen, as well as on the pad. Arrows will move up the screen. When a arrow hits one of the arrow receptors, step. Hold notes are also in the game, and are green and have long like notes. Hold them until they reach the end. Mines are not introduced until DDR X, which are shock arrows. On these, you must NOT hit them or your health will be dropped drastically. Hit notes to gain health. Keep your health up and you will pass the song. Missing too many notes will cause your health to drop. If it depletes completely, you will fail the song and the game is over.

Modifiers
In the arcade, these require codes. Some can do things like reversing, removing freezes, or speedmods. On consoles, most of the time you only need to hit a certain button to open the options menu, and you can change options from there.

Pump It Up

PSP: Pump It Up Exceed

Xbox: Pump It Up Exceed SE

Info
Originally an arcade game. Published by Andamiro. Created by Andamiro, F2, Freevolt, and Nexcade.

How to play
Like DDR, except five arrows are on screen. Hold arrows are slightly different in this game. If you hold onto them, your combo goes up a lot. However, releasing them will deplete your health if you don't keep holding them. Mines are in this game on some charts, hit them and your life will deplete. Instead of dying once your health is depleted, you will fail if you do not hit 50 notes in a row.

Modifiers
These can only be accessed in Full Mode on later versions (Fiesta or later), but in earlier versions you can step a certain code to turn on speed mods or other modifiers.

In The Groove

Games (in order)
Arcade: In The Groove, In The Groove 2, In The Groove 3 (vaporware)

PS2: In The Groove

PC: In The Groove PC, In The Groove 2 (patch for ITG PC)

Info
Originally an arcade game. Developed and published by RoXoR Games. Runs using the Stepmania engine. RoXoR was sued by Konami and can no longer make the In The Groove Series.

How to play
Exactly like DDR. Mines will deplete your health. Other gamemodes are in this such as Marathon, Survival, and Battle. In Marathon, there are courses with multiple songs that have modifiers that change the playfield layout. Some may make the notes fade out, some make the receptors bump left and right to the beat, and many others. In Survival, it is exactly like Marathon. However, there is a timer. Fantastics will add time to the timer by 0.2s. Excellents do nothing. Greats (?) or lower will deplete the timer. If the timer runs out, the game is over. In Battle, you play against another player or the CPU. If you continue stepping accurately without missing, modifiers will be added to the other player. The more you step, the higher the "level" of modifiers sent to the other players will be. There is a meter at the top that shows who is winning more. Missing will cause you to move to the left (P2 winning) or to the right (P1 winning). Using a USB on In The Groove 2 will save stats to the USB drive and allow customs songs from Stepmania using oggs and a SM file. Banners, backgrounds, LUA, and animated movies are disabled for custom songs.

Modifiers
Many are included in this game. By hacking the machine, noteskins and themes can be added to change how the game looks. Different modifiers are in different sections that can add notes, remove items, hide items, speed mods, and other assorted playfield and speed changers.

Beatmania IIDX

Games (in order)
Arcade: beatmania IIDX, beatmania IIDX Club Version, beatmania IIDX Substream, Beatmania IIDX 2nd Style, Beatmania IIDX 3rd Style, Beatmania IIDX 4th Style, Beatmania IIDX 5th Style, Beatmania 6th Style, Beatmania 7th Style, Beatmania IIDX 8th Style, Beatmania IIDX 9th Style, Beatmania IIDX 10th Style, Beatmania IIDX 11 IIDXRED, Beatmania IIDX 12 Happy Sky, Beatmania IIDX 13 Distorted, Beatmania IIDX 14 Gold, Beatmania IIDX 15 DJ Troopers, Beatmania IIDX 16 Empress, Beatmania IIDX 17 Sirius, Beatmania IIDX 18 Resort Anthem, Beatmania IIDX 19 Lincle, Beatmania IIDX 20 Tricoro

PS2: Beatmania IIDX 3rd Style, Beatmania IIDX 4th Style, Beatmania IIDX 5th Style, Beatmania 6th Style, Beatmania 7th Style, Beatmania IIDX 8th Style, Beatmania IIDX 9th Style, Beatmania IIDX 10th Style, Beatmania IIDX 11 IIDXRED, Beatmania IIDX 12 Happy Sky, Beatmania IIDX 13 Distorted, Beatmania IIDX 14 Gold, Beatmania IIDX 15 DJ Troopers, Beatmania IIDX 16 Empress + Premium Best

Info
Originally an arcade game. Developed and published by Konami.

How to play
2 modes are available. 5 Keys Mode, and IIDX Mode (7 keys). Notes will scroll down the screen and you must hit them when they hit a red line using one of the white and black keys. There are 4 white keys on the bottom, and 3 black keys on the top. In Sirius, 2 notes are added. Charge notes, or Hold-me notes require you to hold onto the key until the note ends. Another note, called the back spin scratch, requires you to spin the scratch note on one direction continuously and spin it again to the opposite site at the end of the note. The health bar is different than most rhythm games, as there is a pass mark (red area on the bar). If you do not reach this part by the end of the song, you fail the song and the game is over. However, if you DO get to the red area, you pass and the game will continue.

Modifiers
Speed mods are available, as well as different gameplay modes. Some of these are only available in home. On the Easy modifier, the gauge doesn't decrease so quickly and rises faster than usual. On hard, however, the bar starts at 100%. However, if you miss, it will go down by 10%. Bads and extraneous hits cost 6%. However, the gauge rises by 0.16% for each great or better, and stays unchanged for Goods. In Happy Sky and later, the penalties are less harsh after 30%. If the gauge hits 0%, you immediately fail the song.

Pop'n Music

Games (in order)
Arcade: Pop'n Music 1, Pop'n Music 2, Pop'n Music 3, Pop'n Music 4, Pop'n Music 5, Pop'n Music 6, Pop'n Music 7, Pop'n Music 8, Pop'n Music 9, Pop'n Music 10, Pop'n Music 11, Pop'n Music 12 いろは, Pop'n Music 13 カーニバル, Pop'n Music 14 FEVER!, Pop'n Music 15 ADVENTURE, Pop'n Music 16 Party♪, Pop'n Music 17 THE MOVIE, Pop'n Music 18 せんごく列伝, Pop'n Music 19 TUNE STREET, HELLO! POP'N MUSIC, Pop'n Music 20 fantasia, Pop'n Music Sunny Park

(I cannot find the systems for the other games. If someone could help me/inform me, that would be great!)

How to play
Close to beatmania but has 9 keys mode instead of 7 keys. No hold notes. Has judgement called Cool, close to DDR's Marvelous! or In The Groove's FANTASTIC!. Has passmark, if not reached, song is failed. Has reach or fail goals, such as reaching a certain score, or not getting this amount of misses, bads or goods. These will add a bonus later on.

Modifiers
See How to play.

StepMania & OpenITG

Games (in order)
THIS IS A PC/MAC/LINUX ONLY GAME

Info
Stepmania is now created/assisted by the Spinal Shark Collective. OpenITG is by BoXoRRoXoRs. PC only game. Supports controllers and USB pads.

How to play
EXACTLY like DDR. New note called the tap note, where you must keep tapping on that note repeatedly until the end. Has customizable simfiles, themes, noteskins and other items.
OpenITG has more features such as LUA marathons, FGChanges, and other items to enhance customizability. It is similar to In The Groove due to noteskins and themes.

Modifiers
Includes most of what In The Groove has plus other modifiers that are combined with other modifiers to make an effect.

Rhythm Tengoku

Games (in order)
GBA: Rhythm Tengoku

DS: Rhythm Heaven

Wii: Rhythm Heaven Fever

Info
Originally made for GBA. Developed and published by Nintendo. Only for Nintendo systems.

How to play
There are several minigames through out the game that require you to use specific buttons to perform specific actions to the rhythm. At the end of each game, you will be given a score, such as Superb. If you happen to do these without messing up, you will be given a Perfect, and sometimes, new things will be unlocked. There are also Remixs, which are recollections of some of the minigames you have played, with a certain theme or no theme at all. Sometimes they can be very fast or very hard, so you have to practice them.

Modifiers
There are no modifiers for this game.

DS: Band Hero, Guitar Hero: On Tour, Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades, Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits

Mobile: Guitar Hero III Mobile, Guitar Hero III Backstage Pass, Guitar Hero World Tour Mobile, Guitar Hero 5 Mobile

Other: Guitar Hero Carabiner, Guitar Hero Arcade

iOS: Guitar Hero (iOS)

Info
First a PS2 game. Developed by Neversoft, Harmonix, Budcat Creations and Vicarious Visions. Published by RedOctane and Activision.

How to play
This is playable using the guitar accessory or a controller, or in Guitar Hero World Tour and some others, other instruments such as a mic and drums. On Guitar, there will be a track with 5 receptors. One green, one red, one yellow, one blue, and one orange. These correspond to the buttons on your guitar controller. On the regular controller, they have different controls. For the PS2 and PS3 (I assume), L2 is Green, L1 is Red, R1 is Yellow, R2 is Blue, and Orange is X. For other systems, go read the manual. Notes will scroll towards the receptors, and you must hit them when they reach the receptors. You can not use a regular controller on World Tour or some other versions. Completely white notes that are colored are considered "stream" notes, and you can hit them without strumming. Missing will cause the guitar/instrument to go away, and the ROCK meter to go down. To keep the ROCK meter up, hit notes accurately and continuously. There are 3 areas on the meter. Green means you're doing great and doing the song right. Yellow means you've just started the song or you're doing slightly bad. Red mean's you're doing bad and you need to try harder. If it's blinking red, you need to start playing better now or you're going to fail. If it reaches the end, you fail the song. A mechanic called "Star Power" is in the game. You get it by hitting the stars that come down the track that are in a pattern, and you must hit all of them. Getting more Star Power increases the time you can use it. During this time, your multiplier is multiplied by 2. If you have 4x, it is 5x. 3x becomes 6x, 2 becomes 4x.  In Guitar Hero III and others, there are different modes. Co-Op allows one person to play guitar, and one person to play bass. They share the same ROCK meter and score, and must work together. In Face-Off, 2 players compete against eachother with different difficulties to get a higher score at the end of the song. Face-Off Pro is pretty much the same thing except you both must pick the same difficulties. In World Tour this was made so the lower your difficulty, the more score you get, for fairness. Battle Mode is like In The Groove 2's battle mode. There are certain notes where if you hit them all, you will get a power up. Raising your guitar will send the modifier to the other player. Some can cause people to lose a note to tap, and must regain it by tapping it over and over. Some make the playfield bouncy and the notes blink. If one person does not fail the song by the end, it switches to Sudden Death. All powerups are now health drain power ups, and drain the player's rock meter. Messing up will drain it even more. Whoever loses their ROCK meter, loses, and the other player wins. There are 4 difficulties, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Expert.

Modifiers
There are some, but they are considered Cheats. You must find the code for them and enter them in the cheats menu. One is autoplay, and some are speedmods.

FAQs
What can I discuss here?
Talk about ANYTHING rhythm game related. This includes posting screenshots, videos, simfiles (stepmania or in the groove customs), and other items related to it.

Where can I locate arcade machines?
Zenius-i-Vanisher's arcade locator is a good start. It includes other games for other genres as well besides rhythm games. Pump Haven's locator is also good if you're specifically looking for Pump It Up machines. It will show when the location was last updated, so don't go for it if you don't know it's still there.

Are some of the games multiplayer?
DDR, In The Groove, FoFix (not Frets on Fire) and Pump It Up are both local multiplayer. Stepmania, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, osu! and OpenITG are online multiplayer and local multiplayer. Connect to Stepmania Online's servers (stepmania-online.com) by using either the In The Groove 3 Encore theme for OpenITG, or the default theme for Stepmania. Rock Band and Guitar Hero require a Wii or PS3 with internet, and on the Xbox you require Xbox Live Gold to play online (which is stuffty). osu! is free and only requires a registration to play multiplayer.

Where can I download simfiles and themes and noteskins?
For all those, go to Divinelegy's simfile archive. These also work for Stepmania, OpenITG and In The Groove 2. I would recommend downloading them as they are fun and some are good for beginners.

Where can I download Stepmania and/or OpenITG?
OpenITG
Stepmania 5
Stepmania 3.9 (for the old skool kidz)

This thread will be updated with more rhythm games ON REQUEST, so please let me know if there's one you want added!

I cannot add anymore games due to a character limit. If you wish for me to replace a game, let me know and I might consider it.

CHANGELOG
10/10/13 - Added Guitar Hero. Cannot add anymore games.
10/09/13 - Thread created, added Rhythm Tengoku.

Suggestions & Requests / [Forum] Views counted only by users
« on: October 08, 2013, 07:48:48 PM »
It becomes annoying to see things viewed over and over by possibly only one person just to get it more views, which is kinda stupid.

Which I think would be a good idea is to make it so if a user views it, that's it. Even if you refresh, you can't give it more views.

This would cut down on bots (if there are any) using auto refreshers or just plain idiots refreshing a page over and over to get it more views.

This is a pointless suggestion, but I think it might help a little.

I was playing on Prison Escape (the server everyone hates) today and I was having a bit of fun. Admins weren't responding and Leik Da Blawky Dude got killed. He started raging about the free kill and no admin was responding to his request for someone to resurrect him.

Eventually Lolzcat, another player started joining in the spamming (I didn't get much screenshots of him) when he got freekilled, eventually spamming the chat with FREEKILL!! OMGDHUOIAHER()TGBQAW(T and the word ass over and over again.

It got on everyone nerves and with no admin around no one could kick the two and stop them from spamming. I left the server and went to go play something else because of them annoying the chat, and also not letting me see if guards or prisoners were killing eachother or just see the chat in general.\

Have you guys seen these two before?

Off Topic / Why is Japan much more calm with emergencies than America?
« on: October 08, 2013, 05:47:42 PM »
After a lot of time of looking through videos and talking to friends, I want to ask this to you guys:
/title

One thing that brought this up are the Emergency Alert Systems for both of us are really different.

For example, in a nutshell:
Japan when you see the alerts on television: A emergency is currently happening in a location. Do not panic, remain calm.
However, with AMERICA and alerts: YOU'RE GOING TO DIE WAKE UP GET THE forget UP OUT OF THE HOUSE NOW EVACUATE WEE WOO WEE WOO WEE WOO

I just don't get that. We act like if emergencies like thunderstorms are going to be the end of humanity as we know it. What's the purpose of having severely loud alerts when we could have peaceful alerts like Japan?

Don't believe me? Compare this Japanese alert and this American alert and tell me the difference.

The second thing is we panic more when there are things like earthquakes and other weather hazards happen. However, in Japan, they are prepared. During March the 13th, 2011, a place in Japan had a Tsunami wall and sirens, and knew exactly what do in case of the emergency.

Why isn't America more calm like this? I think it's unnecessary to have VOL [||||||||||||||||] - 100 noises  almost causing us to crash on the highway because of an AMBER ALERT.

Off Topic / Unofficial Blockland Forums Chat Group/Box (xat chat)
« on: October 06, 2013, 06:27:52 PM »

What is this?
This is something I decided to make because a lot of the people on here chat a lot on the forums about anything, but it's annoying to refresh every 30 seconds to see if someone posted or if there's a status update on something. That's why I decided to make this group.

What are you using to host this?
Xat. A lot of the stuff on here is money based (xats, days, powers) but it's a nice chat group. It has a YouTube player (for the synchtuber), Doodle (draw with friends), lots of multiplayer games (snakerace, shoot, etc.) and other cools tuff.

Do I have to register?
I recommend it, but you don't. You will be given a randomly generated name if you join, just click on your name and change it in the top box. Hit OK and you will rejoin with your name.

Will there be mods and admins?
I'm taking apps for mods and admins, and some people will get it immediately because they're nice people or have created something we all enjoy (Gatysh for Synchtube room, other neat admins, etc.). If you want to be a admin, let me know and I MIGHT consider it.
Also ranks:
Guests - People who have not bought Blockland or people I have not membered.

THESE ARE THE RULES. READ THEM OR ELSE YOU MAY BE BANNED OR KICKED FROM THE ROOM.

General Rules:
1. Don't be an asshat.
2. NSFW content is allowed, get over it.
3. Swearing is allowed, get over it.
4. Don't be tribal.
5. No advertising. Just because you're not on the Blockland Forums, does not give you any reason to advertise other forums.
6. Don't spam.

Doodle Rules:
1. As stated in rule #2 of general rules, NSFW content is allowed.
2. #4 of general rules applies in here as well.
3. Don't erase/draw over people's drawings.

YouTube Rules:
1. Don't complain about a video if a mod or I broadcast something. Click the key if you don't want to watch them.
2. DON'T ASK HOW TO QUEUE A VIDEO OR YOU WILL BE KICKED. In the player, click the link button (looks like a chain) and paste in your link.

Now that you've read everything, click here to join the chat! Otherwise, keep reading for more info on Xat.

More info on xat:
Eh? You want to know more about Xat? Well, okay.

Custom profile pictures:
There are a lot of dumb default pictures on Xat, and there's a way to use your own. You can upload yours to Photobucket (I know, that's the only thing they're using :l), and the recommended size is 30x30. Animated pictures require a power which costs money, and I know a lot of people hate that.

Display name:
If you didn't read this above, your name is randomly generated if you didn't register. You can modify it later on if you've registered too.

To modify your display name, click on your own name in the list of names in the chatbox. There's a name box with your random name or your registered name. Delete everything in the box, and change it to what you want. Smileys will work too, go to the full list of smileys to see the full list. The powers one cost money.

That's all I know for now. Enjoy the chatbox!

I've already checked out hentai and R34, so now what?

Any games or videos I should be playing or watching?
