I've been drawing Sci-Fi stuff for a while, and i decided to see if I could make it in BL, so I picked something simple-ish and tried it out.
First, the base sketch i did, plus some alien language that roughly means "Akun". The roosterpit is larger because the species that developed it is ~6ft tall. (yes I made an alien entire language)
Fun fact noone will see: if you move both of the two circles on top one letter to the left, it spells "FORD"! :D


And the build itself features working roosterpit doors and 3 color schemes- Plain Grey, Red/White, and Green/Yellow windows:

This has totally been requested before...

Im thinking about the creator of the renderman mod should make a gamemode which there should be a special map and the gamemod required the renderman mod (this is just a request for the creator and other people)
...and i think this idea is really awesome, so i'm putting this out again to see if the idea would work, and i really hope somebody with some kind of coding skills can put this together. I'd be willing to make the map if we can do this, and this would be tons of fun to play.
              
                How this would work:
  • Only one player is Render, everyone else is a person
  • Render starts invisible, cannot harm players
  • Render can toggle invisibility (jet) if nobody is looking at him
-If someone is looking, Render cannot hide/appear there
  • The rest of Renderman rules apply
  • When visible, Render cannot move/moves slowly
  • When invisible, Render moves 2x as fast as normal player and can pass through players
  • optional: no minigame, just /makerender (name)

I'm pretty sure this can totally be done by only a scripter.

Modification Help / (MS3D) Animating a player model?

I've been looking around online, and i can't figure out how to make my model animations. can anyone point me in the right direction? (Link to tutorial, explanation, etc.) Using Milkshape.

Truce talked about this one a REALLY long time ago, but it's simple;
A party of players spawn in a blue roofed room, and move outwards to do dungeon stuff. red roofed rooms are bad rooms, green roofed rooms would let you see the roofs (similar to a map screen, or "lookout tower"), and the yellow roofed rooms have treasure. get all the treasure to unlock the boss (black roof) and kill him to win. all of this would randomly generate between slayer rounds, and players would have to battle monsters and stuff. Truce actually did release the unfinished script, so it can be found here and permission for people giving it is here.

BTW the code is kinda not safe for anyone who doesn't know what they're doing, so be careful when you first try it out.

Just wondering how to host a dedicated server. couldn't find the file in the Blockland directory, so just curious if i need to redownload it from some website.

for freebuild servers and servers that don't allow you to build, you could open up a UI and get to become playertypes without needing to place a block.
it would disable in minigames.
that's it.

I recently saw no one was making any decals of the fantastic armors in Skyrim, so I did. enjoi. Download= server VIP

Anyone played the TitanFall Beta when it came out? Because it's over now! Now you have to buy it!
Jokes aside, a titan is a huge robot that drops from the sky. it's designed to carry a pilot inside that operates the controls. we could make a titan player/vehicle that does the following things;
    • It's gotta be huge
    • Should be able to operate on it's own
    • AI turns off when you enter
    • Guns. Big guns.
    • Possibly a /command that toggles AI mode (Follow/Guard)
    • Teammates can ride on your back. Enemies can ride too, and can kill you quickly
    • CANNOT JUMP. would probably have low jump height but fast air control
    • Shields (but an enemy can bypass shields and directly harm you by riding)
    This would be so awesome, and if it could be done, it should.

    when you're making a film, first person head bob normally would need to be done by shaking the mouse. why not instead have head bob as though the player's head actually bobs.
    now, I don't mean bouncing up and down, that'd be ridiculous. what i mean is if head bob uses the effect that occurs when using the test explosions/any explosions happening near the player/the player falls. i guess it would intensify as the player got faster, but only when the feet are touching the ground/bricks.

    why hasn't anyone thought of this yet?

    at the press of a button, it calls all bricks that contain the (admin) event, so it can do things from open a prompt for weapons, to changing playertype, to... exploding, i guess.

    there already is a mod like this, but it's a /command. is there any way to make it a keybind? possibly even have it as an addon?

    Help / Equipping items makes me standard playertype?

    This is a weird one. i'm trying to make a minigame and i end up finding myself flying. i set my playertype to first person only, tap tab, nothing happens. equip ANYTHING AT ALL and i turn into standard playertype in 3rd person. I play as a horse. i take out a sword. i'm human. i have no idea what's going on, and it looks like the console isnt helping.

    if you guys have been through this too, and fixed it, can someone please help?

    INTRODUCTION

    Aliens Vs. Predator, the movies of famously terrifying characters FROM space, battling it out, tooth and nail, IN space, along with a couple humans wandering around, being human. The popular game AVP 2 used amazing graphics *for its time*, and it was generally fun to play. Fox interactive made asymmetrical, specialized teams designed and crafted for different play styles. To this day it ranks in my top 10 list of the best games I've ever played, and it's way up there.

    I wanted to play it again, years later, but found out the servers were shut down, permanently ending multiplayer. I was crushed. Then i realized, Blockland is very well known, and has multiplayer! And so i set off on my quest to create a map from AVP 2 in Blockland, and successfully host a multiplayer server.
    so far, it's going slow, but it's going!
    People who have helped in the build
    The Stitch: Map idea, Shutter door, hallway, sewer, Dropship, only guy who's played AVP2
    BlackxHoG: General assistance, sewer

    PICS

    Hallway right next to dropship, leading to garbage pile. Comes with a free useless door!


    Garbage pile, couple boxes too.


    Working door, and broken door, used to control flow of Xenomorphs. humans only control door, but Xeno can easily hop out of vents.


    Exit to dropship, enter to see useless door. (Giant) Vents lead to the door, and outside to the street.


    Hallway to the working door, along with a dead end where originally was a shotgun, but due to aliens not weilding a shotgun, was removed.


    Ladder into sewer, connecting underneath almost the entire map.


    Broken door, along with ladder to outside.


    Vents above the hallway between the broken and working doors.


    Blast window, also used to restrict Xeno movement. can be opened and closed using the switch. Cannot be used from outside!

    The Dropship in all it's glory, where the marines spawn. This is the most time consuming part of the whole map!


    Bottom view, along with pretty headlights. Marines spawn inside, at the top of the ramp, way at the back.


    Tips & tricks!
    • Do not camp in the Blast room. it is not a fort, and it has holes in 3 directions, not counting the Blast window.
    • Xenos should use vents to get close to marines. dont make that mistake.
    • Spray and pray.
    • You can press E (or spraycan) to activate while holding your gun. Those few seconds toggling tools add up to quite alot.
    • Stay together; Marines can be picked off and pounced on from any direction, make sure there's a gun pointing in that direction, too. Aliens are essentially really fast Instagib. Rush in, slash and bash, and jump out of it.
    • Marines use flashlights to spot Xenomorphs. Xenomorphs avoid light to get in close. Not the other way around.
    • Xeno: Vents, Vents, Vents. do not avoid the vents. love the vents.
      Marine: Dead Space probably taught this to you already, so i wont.

    Final Plan for Map
    There will be three gamemodes planned for final verson:
    • Classic Team Deathmatch
      Exactly what it sounds like, Aliens Vs Marines, where the only goal is to shoot the other guys until letters appear that spell "you win"!
    • Bug Hunt
      Both teams have 3 lives each. Last man life-form standing.
    • Extermination
      Multiple locations contain a flag base. Capture a flag to control the immediate area. Control the entire map to win. CTF. Strategy is vital.

    A: Technically, you're in space. Earth is in space. But no. It takes place on a planet "affectionately" named "LV-426", and it is a military/research base.

    Q: Will this be an RP?
    A: No. This map was designed to be Combat intuitive, not a place to raise a family of men pretending to be children and women.

    Q: Did you make this yourself?
