« on: June 24, 2013, 07:20:48 PM »You dont de-lid a cpu to replace it, you only do that to switch the thermal paste on the cores below the cap (even I would not do that). All you do to uninstall a new cpu is take off the fan, open the clamp, and pull it out. To put one in, you gently place the cpu in, close the clamp, and and put on the fan with thermal paste.I remember installing my Intel i7- it actually came with a fan, which was a pleasant surprise. probably not the best fan in the world, but I saved money by using it.
