Well, I stood out there for nearly 30-50 minutes taking long-term pictures. Didn't catch any meteors, but saw a pretty good show.

When it goes into windows, it just gives a few artifacts, then the screen just goes blank. Would I be correct in saying that the GPU is dying/dead?
What kind of laptop is it?

WRONG. Please do more research before posting things you don't have any idea about.
If the motherboard wasn't compatible with a dual-core processor, it would not boot up at all. It would power on, show nothing on the screen, act like there was no processor in the machine.

I talked to him the day before he left, he didn't say anything about leaving or anything.
Then, the next day, TheWorm asks me if he deleted me from his STEAM friends, I check and low and behold, he's gone.

My current speakers (Altec Lansing's) are EXTREMELY sensitive to radio waves. They not only pick up cell phones, my wireless print server (for internet) and even bluetooth, but often when there's a plane passing by, you can hear radio chatter that's coming from the plane.
The same thing happened with my brother's speakers (Logitech), but it was only for the planes (no wi-fi, bluetooth, etc) and it stopped after a year or so, never happened again.
