Yeah, that's the "setup" bit I was talking about. I could do it, but god, it doesn't sound appealing. And yeah, mine crashes on start up.

Honestly creating a d3d9.dll file isn't hard, there's a Java utility someone created on Nexus that allows you to create one with just one click, then you just copy that to your Fallout 3 install directory. The huge problem is that Fallout 3 was pretty much created during the time that Windows XP and dual-core or "two threaded" processors was still the most widely used thing for gaming, so anything above that requires tweaking no matter what, whether it be Vista, 7, 8(.1) or 10.

dududu look at me and my edgy terminals dududu

I have terminals too

I know you're running linux, but do you have any virtual machine recommendations that are usable on Windows 10? Fallout 3 doesn't work anymore on newer versions of Windows without a crazy amount of set up, and if I could run it on 7, that'd be loving great.

I'm using VMware Workstation 12 Player, Virtualbox can't do gaming sadly. I'm assuming you have either the all-too-common issue of either the game randomly crashing or crashing when you try to start/continue a game? 'Cuz from what I know, Fallout 3 does work on 10 (I haven't tried it in my 10 VM to confirm though), but you need to do a few FALLOUT.INI tweaks and/or create a custom d3d9.dll.

Double-typing, basically having a chattering T key might result in you typing "rettarded" instead of "handicapped".

Oh. I had that problem on my Razer Blackwidow Ultimate when I first got it years ago.

another thing to look out for on 4/8chan is people posting weird URLS that look similar to http a/%%30%30. (space for obvious reasons)
If you are using chrome and you put your mouse over the link, or type it in google or your url bar it'll crash every browser window you have open.

It just crashes the open tab, unless you're somehow not running Chrome in sandboxed mode

To anyone more M.2 savvy then i.
Will the new msi board http://us.msi.com/product/motherboard/Z170I-GAMING-PRO-AC.html#hero-overview

Be compatible with the new Samsung m.2 ssd http://www.pcper.com/news/Storage/Samsung-Launches-950-PRO-300000-IOPS-and-25-GBsec-M2-V-NAND-SSD

As long as the M.2 slot on that board is PCI-e 3.0 x4 you should be good. Pretty sure it is since my MSI motherboard works fine with my similar Samsung SM951 M.2 SSD.

How long have you been using that? I heard Kalih's non-razer switches start chattering after around six months.

...chattering? I mean I guess I'll wait like 5 more months to see if my keyboard starts talking to me

1TB HDD + 8GB SSD (isn't OS >8GB? lolwhat)

It's a SSHD which means that the drive basically keeps track of which files are used the most and transfers them over to the solid-state portion of the drive for faster loading. The 8GB isn't a separate drive or partition.

gimme a better one then

Debian/Red Hat (CentOS) if you want stability, Arch if you want bleeding-edge software with a rolling release, Gentoo if you're a madman

ubuntu completely loving up for literally no reason and having 4 people that have used linux for 10+ years not even being able to tell me whats wrong

Yeah that's Ubuntu for you. That's why I don't use it, it's the only distro of its kind that can completely screw itself up and create issues that nobody is able to fix, but that's kinda to be expected since Ubuntu is really just Debian's unstable branch patched to be 'more stable', thrown in with an awful GUI (Unity is terrible).

fair enough, though there are ways to have specific fan ports always running 100%

no, the fan on the radiator is connected to the cpu fan connector

The way I have my water cooling solution set up is, I have the system fan connector connected to the pump/radiator, and the CPU fan to the fan on the radiator. The system fan speed is set in UEFI to be always at 100% speed with the CPU fan being variable how hot the CPU gets.
