What's *.*?
Don't actually do it.
It deletes every single file off your system.

Delete system32
It doesn't do anything and just takes up space
That's the best way to get space, I guess...

Or, you can do "del *.*" in Command Prompt.

Heh.  ThinkPads are nice.  You can get the performance you need / want with rugged, professional-looking construction.

XP64 is not a consumer OS.  Stay the forget away.  If you have to buy an OS with the laptop, get a Vista edition.  Otherwise, I recommend getting the release candidate of Windows 7 and using it until Windows 7 comes out.
Ah.
I do still have a release candidate of Windows 7 burned onto a CD, when Microsoft offically released it, I'll just use that.

When I brought a laptop to school I bought a simple dell one for those reasons entirely. It's durable (Its great worrenty came in use a lot, so not very durable), light, nothing too flashing (Didn't want it to look dirty, get scratching, or care too much about it.

Now that I'm getting a laptop just to lug over to a friends house, I want to get the equivalent of a sports car. Fast, flashing, and useful. That instant on OS is a deal breaker for me, I need that so badly. And its own button even makes it better.

If I wanted a laptop for school I would get the one your getting, miga. However I need this for fun, so I'm getting a very flashy one.
Hey, supposedly the one I'm getting is powerful enough to run pretty much all my games that I have on STEAM.

@Digmaster:
Eh, I can see why you want your laptop to look flashy, but I don't know why, that laptop just doesn't appeal to me...
Sure, weight doesn't matter much for what you're using it for, but what I'm gonna be using my laptop for, I'm gonna need a lightweight laptop that I can take with me to school, while carrying my books and binder and whatnot. Something that glossy would scratch too easily in my backpack, haha.

Anyway, for your laptop, looks good. Now, I just need to figure out how exactly I'm gonna save up the money to get this laptop...
I could always help my dad sell some computers, I guess.

Yup.
Added it to the list.

@EndrenXL:
Yes, but that's made of very cheap-looking, shiny plastic. I want something that looks very professional, and is, in fact, very professional.
Plus, the laptop I posted weighs three pounds. See, the problem with gaming laptops is that they weigh too much, and most of them don't look stylish at all. I hate to say it, but almost all gaming laptops look like they're made out of the same things kid's toys are made out of.

Oh, and durability plays a huge factor for the laptop I'm going to need to get. I need something that's very durable, that can withstand someone stepping on my backpack. I really doubt that the Asus you posted will withstand a few steps over my backpack.

I'm not saying Asus is bad, I'm just saying that gaming laptops in general are bad, and that you should just get a Desktop PC for gaming.

Bad idea. XP 64 is absolute stuff.
It is?
Hmm.
What version of windows do you recommend for 64 bit processing?

I created this thread out of boredom, and to show off the laptop I'm getting for when I go into High School. (It's mandatory that you have a laptop at the high school I'm going to).

I was originally going to get the Lenovo IdeaPad netbook, but I decided against it, as I wanted to be able to play pretty much any game I have on my STEAM games list with it.

So, I'm getting the Lenovo ThinkPad. (Trader approved! :cookieMonster: )

Specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
Windows Vista Home Premium
ATi Mobility Radeon 3470 256 MB
4 GB of DDR3 RAM
160 GB Hard Drive
CD-RW Drive (I don't really burn DVD's.)
9 cell Li-ion battery (up to 8 hours of battery life)

Total Cost: $1,168

Feel free to post any laptop you're going to be getting here.
