ASUS doesn't sell batteries for their own laptops it seems. If they do, I haven't found it on their website yet...
If you do anything (replace hard drive, add more RAM), your warranty is void.

If so, yeah, those things are terribly hard to carry.
I was considering getting the HP Mini 1000 XP at first, but I know the nice design of the laptop will probably get ruined in my backpack, so I'm gonna get the Lenovo IdeaPad. (Lenovo's ultradurable netbook)

Portability is definately a factor if you want to take a laptop to school. You have your schoolbooks (at least I do), your binder, and having a heavy laptop makes my backpack too heavy to carry. When I got my Eee, it was such a relief not having to lug around an eight pound laptop to school every day.

Well, you're looking for something good enough for games and whatnot...
Most modern netbooks can run games like World of Warcraft, Half-Life 2, etc.
If you're looking for running games that require more than a netbook can offer, it would be best to look for a regular laptop. Asus also makes really good standard laptops, too, along with Gateway (even though Gateway laptops can tend to be a bit thick).

I'm looking at Asus' stuff on Newegg, they got some great looking units.
I'm getting this one to replace my Eee PC 701, and I'm also getting it for when I go into High School.
Most of the specs for an Eee PC were comparable to this Lenovo I chose out, and I really need a durable laptop for school (people love to sit on your backpacks and walk over your backpacks at my school)
