You realize that means the hydroponics deck would make up a huge portion of the ship right? About 1/16th of the Earth's crust is inhabited by humans, and half of that is used to grow food. So half the ship would be dedicated to growing food to feed the other half, and the people to fill that thing would easily exceed the population of Earth.the thing is that with such advanced tech plants would be egineered to have extremely high yield
and even if it cant sustain the pop completely they can stop at an aggro world
