Not sure if anyone has tried this in Singleplayer yet but when I do none of the UIs come up, the blur effect on the screenshots do work though.
because said screenshots are already blurred.

You can't expect everybody to never use a lot of bricks on their servers just so some choice people with weaker computers can run it better.
I never said that, and I don't expect anyone to do that.

My only advise:
- Turn shaders OFF.
- Lower max draw distance to lowest possible.
- Lower any other graphics you can think of as much as possible.
Again, making it clearer for you, hopefully.

And FYI, I'm sure most of us actually are lowering graphics quality. I get pretty bad framerates on high-brickcount servers, but never as ridiculous as this. I'm 100% sure I was under 1FPS in that screenshot I posted yesterday.

It's not my fault that bricks cause lag.
It's not my fault you have a crappy graphics card.
It's not my fault graphics cards cost money.
It's not my fault you choose not to lower your graphics quality instead of wining.
It's not our fault some of us can't afford to get the beefiest of computers.

I'd rather go and play Minecraft than deal with this server. At least I can get a solid 35.

Modification Help / Re: commandToClient isn't working like I expect
« on: May 30, 2013, 10:33:03 PM »
Client commands work just like server commands.

You need to name your function like this:
Code: [Select]
clientCmdBLE_SetUpperCenterPrint
Thank you that worked.

Modification Help / commandToClient isn't working like I expect
« on: May 30, 2013, 10:27:55 PM »
client.cs:
Code: [Select]
if(!isObject(BLE_UpperCenterPrint)) { exec("./gui/BLE_UpperCenterPrint.gui"); }

//%duration needs to be in msec, e.g. 1000 = 1 second
function BLE_SetUpperCenterPrint(%msg,%duration)
{

echo("received.");

BLE_UpperCenterPrint_Text.setText("<just:center>" @ %msg);

if(%duration)
{

schedule(%duration,0,BLE_SetUpperCenterPrint,"",0);

}

}

server.cs:
Code: [Select]
function BLE_UpperCenterPrint(%client,%msg,%duration)
{
if(isObject(%client))
{

commandToClient(%client,'BLE_SetUpperCenterPrint',%msg,%duration);
echo("should've worked.");

}

}

"should've worked" is echoed, however "received" isn't. I know the client-sided command works.

Is there some syntax issue I'm oblivious to, or what.

(using BLE_UpperCenterPrint(findclientbyName("theb"),"test",5000);)

I had a lot of fun.

Render distance of 180, shaders were off.

I have been just normally building here. And for many people, they say it's very laggy on the server.
Cool to know I'm not the only one.

General Discussion / Re: Blockland video monetization
« on: May 29, 2013, 07:11:41 PM »
Yeah, so 100 views is probably more like one cent
I've been partnered for a little while, and this is true.
You're not going to make much of anything at all unless you get maybe 10, 20k views.

And that really only counts for those who do not have ad-block. If someone watches your video with ad-block on, you get nothing.

And 100 views =/= 1 dollar, it's more like a cent.

OOOoooohhh

If you have snail-speed internet, would this slow the download speed down any more because it has to load the server preview and anything?
Considering the preview images are only about 30 - 50KB, probably not.

wow i had no idea the difference was that.drastic.
can you even play blockland on the Linux?
You tell me.
