Off Topic / Adware? What is this?
« on: May 03, 2013, 12:02:53 AM »
Okay so randomly today I've been getting this all over:

Underlined words that just appear on random words, like "continue".

Is this some sort of adware? Is there any program that is known for doing this?

I'm currently running a AVG full computer scan, but I don't know...

Games / PAYDAY: The Heist Megathread
« on: March 28, 2013, 03:31:17 AM »

Rob a bank with your friends!

What is it?

Watch the trailer:

PAYDAY: The Heist is an action filled first person shooter that lets players take on the role of a hardened career criminal executing intense, dynamic heists in constant pursuit of the next “big score”. Load out with an array of weaponry and equipment. Navigate six high-stake heists with three other live or A.I. Co-Op partners in crime.

In Payday: The Heist, players use a variety of firearms to complete objectives (usually centered around stealing a certain object or a particular amount of money). The game plays from the first person perspective, but offers a few twists on the standard FPS formula. Killing civilians is punished, instead players may take a limited number as hostages. Should any player die during the heist, one of his teammates may release a hostage, allowing the a single player to respawn. While playing the levels players will notice a lot of variation in a single level as there are often a large number of random events programmed in. Examples of this are the location of the bank manager in First World Bank or whether your codes will work or not in Diamond Heist.

The game focuses on four robbers (Dallas, Hoxton, Chains and Wolf) who team up. Their first heist took place at the First World Bank, where they entered a vault by using thermite hidden on the inside of a photocopier and stole a large amount of money. A post-game message congratulates the group, telling them that they are "set for life", but recommends more heists, including robbing drug junkies in an abandoned apartment complex and ambushing a prisoner transport in heavy rain weather, simply for the enjoyment of them.

Wait whaaaat it has a SEQUEL COMING OUT?!

Yes! That's right! Payday has a sequel coming out with tons of new content that includes maps, weapons, masks, banks, and a whole lotta extra crap!

Quote
- CRIMENET – The dynamic contract database lets gamers pick and choose from available jobs by connecting with local contacts such as Vlad the Ukrainian, shady politician “The Elephant” and Mexican drug trafficker Hector, all with their own agenda and best interests in mind. CRIMENET features dozens of varied, exciting jobs and as the player progresses, new contacts with new jobs become available.
- Choose Your Profession – As players progress they can invest in any of four special professions: the Mastermind, the Enforcer, the Ghost and the Technician. Each features a deep customization tree of associated skills and equipment to master and they can be mixed and matched to create the ultimate heister.
- PAYDAY Loot – Finishing a job isn’t just an accomplishment to be proud of. After a successful heist gamers will also earn rare and powerful new equipment such as masks, weapons mods, mask modifications and a variety of other accessories.
- Weapons and Modifications – A brand new arsenal for the serious heister covering everything from sniper and assault rifles to compact PDWs and SMGs. Once players have settled for a favorite, they can modify it with optics, suppressors, fore grips, reticles, barrels, frames and stocks – all of which will affect the performance of their weapon. There are also purely aesthetic enhancements – why not go for the drug lord look with polished walnut grips for your nine?
- Mission Assets – Every job has a set of purchasable assets that can alter and enhance the heist such as a faster escape car, blueprints or even inside help.
- Character Upgrades – The signature PAYDAY mask can now be customized into tens of thousands of different combinations, color and material variations and there is a bigger selection of gear to wear for the discerning high-fashion heister.
- Multistage Jobs – Many contracts feature several separate stages allowing for mission forks and different outcomes depending on what the players accomplish in each individual stage.
- Rob Banks With Friends – Players must choose their crew carefully because when the job goes down they will need the right mix of skills on their side.
- PAYDAY Gun Play and Mechanics on a New Level – Firing weapons and zip tying civilians never felt so good.
Dynamic Scenarios – No heist ever plays out the same way twice. Every single scenario has random geometry or even rare events.
- Character Progression – Gamers begin as dime store thieves and as the game progresses they unlock new skills, weapons, accessories and masks, eventually becoming legendary robbers.
- Play It Your Way – Each job allows for multiple approaches such as slow and stealthy ambushes to running in guns blazing. Players hit the target any way they want and watch as the heist unfolds accordingly.
- AI Director – PAYDAY 2’s new AI director breaks new ground and requires even more from the dedicated co-operative player base. Enemies will devise strategies in response to player action like flash banging, breaching tactics, freeing hostages and even recovering loot bags.

From Wikipedia:

PAYDAY 2 is a cooperative first-person shooter video game in development by Overkill Software. It is the sequel to Payday: The Heist and is scheduled for release in 2013.[1] It involves the player and their team performing bank heists and robberies. Gameplay is heavily improved and expanded since it's prequel, with a number of new abilities. The game was first announced in February 2013 and later previewed in March of that year, alongside an announcement of the developer's parent company: Starbreeze Studios's partnership with 505 Games.

It is set to be released in Q3 2013 on Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation 3 via Playstation Network and Microsoft Windows via Steam

Okay so there's this Spec Ops mission in Modern Warfare 3 where you sneak around and kill Makarov's men and there's this piano song playing in the background. You can hear it near the beginning portion of the video.

I've searched through all the official soundtracks of the game and haven't found anything.

I've asked on Reddit and 4chan and they basically just rick roll'd me. Come on guys, I'm putting my trust in you to help me out here.

Games / Transformice - 2D platformer with physics

Official Blockland Room
/room bl

What is it?

Transformice is a multiplayer game, where you are a small mouse out to get a cheese and bring the cheese back to the hole.
The game includes a physics engine, so interactions between players are realistic.
Each round lasts 2 minutes max, and in order to help the 20 or so mice-players to get the cheese, a player will be chosen to be the powerful shaman and will be able to spawn different objects to guide the mice.

How do you play?

You start out as a simple mouse with simple controls, these controls being either "WASD" or the arrow keys. All you really have to do is move left, right, duck, and jump around to get the cheese as fast as possible! Or you can just lag behind and annoy the living hell out of everyone!

You can try the game out here for free! You can either be a guest or register as a full user (for free).

It's really fun and I recommend it to anyone who likes puzzle/sandbox/multiplayer games!

I'm sick in bed and the rest of my family is downstairs watching a movie (Rio) and my brothers friends are in the basement watching a movie as well (Back to the future), I went all the way downstairs to get some home-made freshly baked cookies and they only left 1 for me :(. I ate it and went back upstairs and got into my bed (which isn't even made, as in the pillowcases are off and the sheets are folded up.

What can I do? :<
