Is that a quad core? I'm too lazy to look it up. If it's not then get a quad core because fraps rapes 2 cores on your cpu. Yeah it uses a lot of resources but the quality is great.

Also to make fraps use less resources, don't record sound, record at 15 or 30 fps instead of 60, record in half size, etc. If you do want sound just use a Source demo file to record the video without the sound then go back and record again at 1 fps then combine the audio with the video.
You cant use source in MySims

You're better off with fraps.
Fraps uses a lot of resources but so does all the other programs so the only thing you can do is get a capture card or upgrade your computer.
I have an i7 3ghz i think it was a gtx 480 and some motherboard i forgot on windows 7
