For example: the begging of the show is about a new car, but it breaks down and has to be fixed. While its getting fixed they encounter a familer face and the rest of the episode is about that person.
Thats not really the issue, the issue is that they lost their witt. The Simpsons no longer has hidden messages, just annoying sarcastic comments. Sarcasm isn't witty.

May I suggest adding a little bit more colour to the lever action? Looks kind of dull all grey, add some wood. Infact, just stick a random plank of wood right on the barrel. It'll be the beating plank. Dayum right.
