afaik removing all avatars from the forum is easy, it's just removing page elements, but if you want to add an avatar, anyone who wants to see it would have to also have the script running so that yours has a hook to send info to

i basically said "who the forget are you to decide this for others", which minus the "the forget" is a normal thing to say to someone when they don't realize they are projecting, the projecting clearly wasnt even with bad intention. the "the forget" is the core of this drama, its rude, but its miles away from the horrible slurs and namecalls ive had in this thread because of it.
just look at unova's recent post here, calling me a "loving aspie". ntm i apologized to legolad 2 days ago.
it's good that you apologised, but you absolutely went into the thread of your own volition, intending to stuff on a user right out of the gate without even giving any thought as to where you were or who you were even intending to stuff on. you're on the BLF, like 75% of the people giving you any stuff here are brainblastingly handicapped and should be disregarded. most of them are literally only posting to piss you off because a) you're an easy target and b) there's this absurd mindset that stuffting on the target of the day makes you cooler.
you wanna throw hands with them, fine, but pay attention to who you're getting ready to lambast next time so you aren't an starfish to the people who don't deserve it.

we're not surprised when we see you at your peak borderline we just don't have the patience for someone being openly hostile to a friendly person asking a question
just because someone else will do something worse or that someone will inevitably be attacked, doesn't mean you get a free pass to do it. for as irresponsibly lax and toxic as this forum is, it isn't to the point of complete anarchic lawlessness, and it isn't okay to legitimately be an starfish to someone who doesn't deserve it. if you find yourself going off on someone for a simple question that easily, this probably isn't the healthiest place for you, venting or otherwise.

i wouldn't go to the length of insulting everyone that disagrees with me like phanto did but for the most part he hit the nail on the head. it sucks that devoted fans of a series either have to scrap their work entirely or stop paying direct tribute to the series they started out paying tribute to, but it's activision's intellectual property, and property they're immediately (re)making content for. whether the game is good, bad or just completely mediocre it's going to invariably reflect poorly on activision's part both financially (a good fangame will make activision look lazy, while a bad one will get activision associated with it) and legally (as with Nintendo, Activision letting some groups make fangames and not others would cheapen their stance and loosen their hold on their intellectual property, which opens up a whole can of worms for people looking for a piece of the intellectual property pie).
it's the depressing truth of game design -- it's not that they don't want you to pay homage to their games, it's that they don't want you taking away from their employees' salaries, and don't want to lose a sought-after property that makes them money.
