Well I have played both.. I wouldnt say they are the same yet worse. Paintball hurts for the moment you get it and leaves a welt because it impacts a bigger surface area. Airsoft impacts sting like a bitch, like a bee sting almost, but go away after 5-10 minutes. Sometimes a paintball can cut you if the welt protrudes enough, and Sometimes airsoft BB's can break skin on instant contact and sometimes get buried in some layers. it all depends.

Long story short Airsoft will sting a little more then paintballs. Paintballs have a bigger area to hurt for less time.

The average paintball gun shoots 275-320 FPS, The average Airsoft gun shoots 380-430 FPS

What the hell told you that? If you have good shiming, a decent set of gears and a nice high torque or high speed motor, you can hold the auto down forever. The G&G Combat machine comes with a pretty standard motor that can withstand holding full auto till the battery dies (7.4v Lipo)
