lol is that a bicycle helmet

get an m83 (?) helmet instead.
No its a Fast Helmet, most Special Forces units run them. They are very popular in the airsoft community. Even I own a Base Jump model Fast Helmet.

not sure, AEPs are pretty horribly underused and produced.

There underused because they are useless.. Im sorry but I cannot feel something hitting my plate carrier if it shoots 120 fps. A cheap gas pistol is all that is needed.. or even a high tension spring pistol that does at least 290-320 fps. I run a CO2 PT99 taurus, full blowback shoots at 390 fps only costs $120. I did say stay away from CO2 but this is regulated.

get a revolver

Almost the most useless thing to tell someone. I would never get a revolver if you plan to skirmish, they are hard to reload while in a game (I know from experience using http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/tanaka-sandw-m500-8-3inch-magnum-revolver-stainless-hw.html) Buy something that you like and thats comfortable for you. Make sure you are looking into reviews to make sure they are quality guns.

Also try to stay away from CO2 Guns now, Fields all around Canada, Europe, and USA are banning them due to the fact that most CO2 pistols are unregulated...

a pair of mesh goggles.

Don't skimp out on eyepro, If I were you I would get ballistic goggles or glasses. Mesh wont save your eyes from a bb shard when it breaks on impact of the goggles, also the paint chips and can get in your eyes. I use to run Mesh goggles.. now I don't after seeing someone almost lose an eye to a bb shard.

yeah you should be, but its still got an oddball spot for the battery. For my PDW I removed the gas tubes and put a 7.4 mini lipo in the shroud area, and for my m4 I put 2 11.1v lipos in each buffer tubes

yeeeaaaah...

If you do end up getting it, post comments on the battery storage, From what I've heard about it from retailers that got the early access model, the battery storage is poop. Don't let that bother you, I modified my PDW so I don't have to worry about poopy battery storage

.20's are fine lol just dont buy from an unreputable maunfacturer. King Arms is a fantastic BB brand.

There fine but they don't have the umph of a .25. I  just find that .20 don't always have the best quality.. Even with Elite force .20s and sometimes King arms.. I still say I would recommend BB Bastard anyday, they make sure there is no imperfections on any BB...

I've thought the concept of airsoft is fun, but it seems like a stuff ton of money to sink into something I won't always have time to do.

Its initially a lot of money to start but once you get going its cheaper then other similar things *cough* paintball *cough*

your gun and gear will cost a lot. ammo only cost 15 bucks for 2000 rounds sometimes less, usually thats all you need is your own ammo and walk on fees for the field..(after you get your gear, gun, etc..)

next pay day i'll be buying more magazines from amazon with .20 and .12 bb's,

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. If you plan on having this gun for a while, treat it with a little respect. Putting .12g bbs in it will forget up the inner barrel. It will scratch it to stuff. Even risky going with .20g bbs.

If you want my input, go for .23 or .25 Goldenball/elite force/bb bastard Seamless, double polished, with accuracy to .01 BBs. Never buy Crossman brand BB's, anything thats clear/.12 or anything cheap for any reason what so ever.

Here's a bunch of great tips about optics and foregrips to dispell bad habits.

This video is horse stuff. you can put your rail attachments where ever the hell you want to. The reason they make it so customizable is to have set to your comfort. I've been airsofting for 3 years, and have moved my grip all over my guns. Where I have it is where it feels best.

Ive even used C7's at our local range that have grips that close, if not closer to the magwell. Theres nothing wrong with it.

Foregrips are meant to be put were the user is comfortable with them. The magwell is to close to me and having the foregrip 1km down the rail is too far for me. I have it where it feels comfortable. I've seen lots of real military weapons where the foregrip is legit touching the magwell. Its all in who uses it.

Sorry can't say I have. I'm canadian so I have limited choices of fields where I am.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iT3W6jinl78 This was a milsim game that I took part in with a few guys from our team. Although I am not any of the guys you see in the video, I was in the main part of the action were these guys werent.
At one point were they are behind tires and a run down trailer I was across from them having a firefight in the loading bay/kitchen area... It was hard not to get smoked by a sniper when crossing the doorways..

I hate using the magwell for a grip, the foregrip is just far enough out of the way where I don't touch the magwell and its comfortable for me to hold. I would have bought a magwell grip if I wanted that :/
