I would assume the Palestinian and Israeli conflict has come to a standstill/temporary ceasefire.
The CIA begins to cooperate with NATO as well as Afghan and Saudi intelligence agencies to pinpoint the people behind this attack.
The USA accepts Afghanistan's proposal.
The president asserts that this is not a war on Muslims, as the attackers appear to be of Muslim origin, but a war on terrorists who happen to be radical Muslims.
"We shall not fight on a slippery slope here. We must be cautious in our pursuit of justice; as Americans we must take care to also keep the lives of non-terrorist-affiliated civilians peaceful and undisturbed.
War is terrible. We are scared. But shouldn't be blinded in this moment."
