Clan Discussion / Build Team 01
« on: August 08, 2009, 01:49:25 AM »
I am bored as hell and I want to have people who actually know what the hell they are doing to help me on my Mars RP build.
Build Team 01 is probably only going to last a few days/weeks. I have no plans for any long term commitement to this clan.
That said, I am looking for above average-experiance builders to work on group builds with.
Preferably people who arn't complete loving morons.
If interested, either join my Mars RP server or post in this thread.
I will be putting BT01 as a clan tag but it really isn't needed as this probably wont last anyways.
The current password to the Mars RP server is Gallium.

They don't have to be hilarious, just at least somewhat amusing.
I dunno. I guess you don't have to do anything, I just wanted an excuse to post this.

When it comes to building, there isn't a game better than Blockland. When it comes for finding the right place to build, there isn't a map better than a Ladios's Slate Edits map.
For the longest time, these slate edits have been favorites as settings for builds due to the sheer amount of space they have to offer, and the atmospheres they provide. Ladios's Slate Edits are the original and best choice when it comes to having a variety of maps to choose from. You will never need anything else! Be sure to try Ladios's Slate Edits today!

Downloading this set will give you access to these 13 fantastic maps!

Slate Fields
A long time favorite due to its even and smooth lighting, this map is perfect for virtually any build.

Slate Tundra
For anyone who has every wanted to build in the snow, Slate Tundra has long been providing the best environment for any icy build.

Slate Spooky
A dark foggy forest lit by the dim moon light gives a creepy atmosphere for whatever you make.

Slate Twilight
One of the most beautifully lit maps in Blockland, this map is perfect to give your build the dramatic lighting effect of the setting sun.

Slate Inferno
The map is lit by the glowing lava below. In deathmatches, the lava kills you instantly, making this map an excelent choice for themed builds.

Slate Exodus
Night falls on the desert. Now lit only by the north star, this map is a great choice for whenever you need to build in the dark.

Slate Flipped
Turn your world upside-down with this crazy slate map. The sun below you, and the ground above you add a bizzare feel to whatever build you make.

Slate Christmas
The holidays come early in this snowy, moonlit forest. Be sure to watch for santa in his sleigh as he rides across the sky.

Slate Lunar
One small step for blockheads, one awesome map for Blockland! With the Earth on the horizon and realistically scaled gravity, this map is a great choice for a space colony or many other ideas

Slate Wastelands
We return to the desert to find the wind has picked up. Dust clouds above, with occasional poofs around lead this to be an exciting map for any build.

Slate Astro
A void in space where you are lit up from all sides by the stars. The new and perfect choice for any space build you need to make.

Slate Showers
Its getting muddy as a light drizzle falls from the clouds in this new map. Provides a great atmosphere for a rainy forest or city.

Slate Martian
Alien fans rejoice with this new addition to the set. This map features a reddish lighting, a reddish sky, and a reddish ground. They don't call it the "red planet" for nothing.

Be sure to check out this map on RTB!

Quote from: changelog
Version 2 update does the following:
Removed Slate Desert, Slate Storm, and Slate Sea as they are now redundant.
Removed bottom sky textures on maps that don't use them. (Will get rid of that giant box that appears when you go too high)
Fixed low gravity on Slate Lunar.
Made the grass greener on Slate Feilds.
Slate Inferno is now much darker and lit from the lava below.

Incidentally, this is actually version 2.5 according to the main set and how it was released before. Part of why I am releasing this "fix" update is to synch it to what it actually is supposed to be. Next one will be v3 on RTB and v3 in the map pack's history.

I was actually worried when I saw that I missed my 16k (and my 15k for that matter) but this number is cool enough for me to still throw a micro-celebration.

« on: August 03, 2009, 02:11:50 AM »
So I was in the drama forum looking at random noobs and stuff posts and was in the bisjac thread. I leave the thread and go back to the drama section to see if there is anything else interesting...

I dont notice anything at first, I see the new button on the thread at the top and go in. I'm looking through a thread that seemed awefully familiar and I see the dates were all.... old. I figure some noob must have bumped it and scroll down but see the last post was in februrary. I get confused and hit the back key to the drama section again and I see the "africa is out" thread... I remember asking wtf that was about before. I look at the dates on the sides and they are all... old. I scroll up and the date thing is normal.
It was trippy as hell.

Never mind guys, false alarm...

Modification Help / (Solved) Making a multi-charge level gun?
« on: July 29, 2009, 06:53:57 PM »
Basically what I am trying to acheive is that if you hold down on the mouse button for one second before releasing, it will fire a charged shot with shooting several projectiles at once, where as a not charged shot will only fire one projectile. For the most part I have gotten it to work, but the problem is, if you want to fire a single projectile, you still need to wait the 1 second after you click for it to shoot. Is there any way to fix this?

Off Topic / So I just realised why einstein's thing works
« on: July 28, 2009, 05:06:54 PM »
So everyone knows E=MC2. My science teachers always told me that this means the faster you go the more massive you become.
I just accepted it as a fact, I knew it was probably right, but I didn't understand why.
Now I do, cause as the kinetic energy increases, the total energy increases. This means the other side of the equation needs to change but as the speed of light is a constant, the mass has to increase.
Yes I know, mock me as you will, but I don't give a stuff. The fact that no one made the connection for me and that I did so myself I think actually shows that I have some reasoning skills or whatever...

Wait a minute... that seems wrong... as you go faster your energy, including potential energy remains the same, as the potential energy is merely converted into kinetic energy... you have the potential to move in any direction at any time, but say having a giant rocket strapped to your back increases your potential in one direction... hmm... so does this mean you don't gain mass?
If that is true, that means it would be possible to reach the speed of light, but it isn't... forget now I just confused myself further...
