So if you are not already familiar, one of my pasttimes includes taking overpriced tasty store foods and making at home cheaper but tastier varients. Well recently I was like "I can make a tastier cookie butter" cause cookie butter is pretty dumb. Its just sugar, oil, sugar, cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg and sugar. That's dumb and at 6 dollars a jar when sugar is 1 dollar for a pound bag, and the jar is 90% sugar, I am like Nope.

So first step was to use real nuts, I used a blend of almonds and macadamia nuts and walnuts.. The second was to not use corn oil, so I used coconut oil. To make it more flavored I added white chocolate chips and cranberries. I also added a bit of sugar to sweeten it because while it would be fine to make it with no sugar, it adds volume for cheap (my main complaint with storebought butters, but if im adding it myself it costs less, plus I add less so it is healthier overall)

In the end I had a butter thing that tasted very much like whitechocolatechip cookies with macadamia nuts, cranberriers, and almondjoys crumbled into it. Quite the most spectacular flavored nutspread ever created.
My main concern now is however:

How do I possibly eat something this tasty in a manner that brings justice to the awesome flavors?!

I've been having this conversation with different people at different times and this is a decent enough brown townogy I think alot of you may appreciate so in order for me to not have to type as much, read said blog above by some dude I don't know but worded things funly.

Chapter Two: It Came from Space!

Quick-skip to most recent update.

Welcome. There is a room, as you can see here. There is a person whom is Green. They are facing to the right cause that is the direction their hair is pointing. There is a penguin sporting a stylish bow-tie situated in the room as well. There are as well a bunch of other things as you can see.

Currently there is a threat to the world this room inhabits, and as such there is motivation for events to occur in order to preserve the status quo of this world so to speak; that is, most people don't like their world being threatened.
I assume you are all mostly familiar with the various commands able to be given in such choose your own adventures.

Its designed for bossbattles servers where one player is the horseman and can control other people with his pumpkin attack
Its pretty stuffty and I dunno if I even wannna continue on it since ive redone the script several times and this is the best its gotten and its still stuff.
Anyways, it does have a few nifty tidbits I hope would come in handy though if someone were hoping to make some cool mod with features utilized in this. So while I hope not to see this on any servers, I do hope someone can find the code in it usefull.

Edit: I am an idiot and this is supposed to be in general modification discussion but I dont wanna spam topics so whatever

Also feel free to use the creepy pumpkin model for anything you want cause it does look rather creepy

Modification Help / AI control of Playerobject

This has a multitude of uses if we can get it working right, servers where when a player disconnects, the bot takes over to maintain continues teamcount, where a player can become "rabid" or what have you and loose control temporarily, etc.

I am right in suspecting that AIplayer is just an inherited player with additional functionality to run on it's own?
Thus it has no associated client, wherin if you assign a client to that aiplayer, you can override the commands, and that works fine and dandy in all my tests. But I am having trouble achieving the reverse.

My best guess right now is that I have to just copy all the information from the player, delete it, spawn a AI player of duplicate information, and mount the camera to that ai player until the duration expires, and then switch it all back. I can see this causing alot of problems though if used with other mods that might override the spawnfunction to determine scoring or whatever.

Is there anyway to dynamically apply the components to make the player act through standard AI without having to basically overwrite all the holebot package components to also include players under the circumstance they are lacking a client? I mean thats doable but rather bulky for the smallscale unobtrusive implementation I was hoping for.

So for most of my life I had been plagued with annyoingly dry skin in random patches every now and then. They would clear up after applying lotion or whatever for a few weeks but they were never that bad. The past year though I have had the side of my hand and a couple fingers look like a molting lizard due to how dry and cracking they were. On the worst days I would actually start bleeding if I bent my fingers too quickly cause my skin was too hard and would tear. No matter what I used nothing seemed to help either, and I was in a perpetual state of inconvenience as every time I would wash dishes or laundry (which I have to do by hand) it would sting the open rips on my hand. Until, coconut oil.

This could be like a loving advertisement or some stuff but after less than two weeks of twice daily application of coconut oil to the dry skin and the lizard molt is finally dissapearing and my hand looks socially acceptable once again. It actually looks like regular normal skin now, and comparatively is even less dried out than other patches in the past.

Also coconut oil is a great substitute for any cooking oil you have to heat, whereas things like canola oil and corn oil put off carcinogens when heated, and olive oil degrades in quality over heat. My favorite is coconutoil popcorn. :D
Also you can like use it for hair conditioner and soap and whatnot.

So yeah, coconut oil. Good stuff.

I love the look of the pumpkins and don't want to model my own lest conflicts in style become appearant, however I am in need of a .dts format for doing fancy things with and the models in the game are just in the raw blb format.

Modification Help / Horse override not mounting correctly

Hello
I have a custom script that is supposed to automount you to a horse based playertype

The problem is it mounts it to what would be the horse's right hand slot for holding weapons.
If I

The player lands in the correct slot but is unable to control the horse.

Has anyone found a fix for this yet? I have been looking over other scripts and they don't seem to do anything differently.

Lemme tell u bout dem Homestuck

In short: a semi-interactive webcomic. It began following the success of Andrew Hussie's experience in the medium of interactive fiction through Problem Sleuth, the noir/absurdist story of a hardboiled detective. The story follows 4  16  33+ infinite alternate reality itterations children in their journeys through a transdimensional videogame in the quest to save existence itself. Hussie's style often pokes fun at popular culture and video games, and while the current story takes a while to pick up relative to his previous works, there is obviously alot more time and consideration put into the current endevour. To read someone else's summary who had more time to write about this, check out this image:

Add-Ons / Faulty Gun : "Don't point that at me!" v1.2 updated 10/01

A white variant of the gun.
To install, click here, and place zip file in addons directory.

To use, throw it at someone like you would a spear (hold-click, release), the gun on collision may spawn an additional bullet.
The gun also has the possibility to randomly go off if held normally.

This addon (for whatever reason) was requested by Mister Cheese



V2: CHANGELOG
No longer spams owner of projectile in chat.
Actually removes item icon when item thrown.
Bullet will not always be created on impact.
The randomly created bullet now does more damage than the spawning gun projectile.
Gun may fire randomly while being held in idle position.

Modification Help / embedded arrays

Quick question.
Does anyone have experience getting embedded arrays to work?
I can't find a good example of them in published mods which is disconcerting as they seem to be the easiest way for me to do all the type checks I'm doing without spamming datablocks.

Any tips?

Modification Help / Making Object Ignore Lighting?

I was wondering if anyone has thus far found a way to make an object not get affected by the lighting of the map and just always be fully lit whether by code or texture. I notice the jeeps headlights kinda glow but when shaders are applied they are as black as everything else in the dark. If there would be a way to make a light or something that always was visible that would be fantastic.
My searches on torque doesn't pull up anything and the BL forums search function is broken as crap so this is just a shout out asking if anyone has fixed this problem yet?

It is long overdue but here is the first alpha build of Gamemode_RTS

Let me know what you think! This is unfinished so it doesnt really have the alien stuff yet, just the basics of the RTS system (which is easily expandable btw, if you know how try coding a small custom mappack and see how fun it could be :D)

Ok so I have not had much time over the past few months to really work on any of the projects I have been meaning to. Now with the upcoming holiday season and moving shortly thereafter I have even less time but I am getting more anxious about not doing the things I like. Not to mention greenlight is on it's way and I would like this mod to be available as soon as possible for any new players.
One of them is making this add-On: Invasion.

This topic is to detail what has already been accomplished and what will be planned. This first post itself will change as I complete more assets to make it look nicer.

There is a significant lack of original game modes in this game. There are many variations of DMs and just recently we got a racing mode, but so much can be done on a game as open as Blockland. A significant void is the Strategy genre, and while there are the loosely moderated MiniEmpires, a full-fledged strategy add-on is definitely needed.

The Invasion game mode would feature a departure from the traditional control scheme, loosing the first person perspective to instead allow for issuing commands to multiple bots from above. You order your troops to build, battle, and collect resources until the end result of defeating the enemies base is complete. The game would allow for even more alternative objectives as well, though the inital focus would be on the basic 1v1 alien invasion set up.

Background:
(With holiday hours, I have no time to write a big fancy thing just yet, also note the lack of pictures)
The aliens initially caught the humans off gaurd with their inital attack, but having fought them off humanity is offered a short time to prepare for the real invasion. When the aliens touch down, the army is already ready and the battle begins.

Battlefield:
On one side of the map the aliens touch down, their dropships loading off troops and supplies, on the other, the army has already set up camp and is organizing and moving in its troops. Each side beings to build more structures to produce and operate more powerful units and vehicles. Each team gathers resources that unlock more units and abilities, and each team tries to destroy the enemy base.

Again as I have more time I will write more. There are plans for currently 12 types of units, 8 buildings, but this may change as things develop.

Anyone else having a problem, recently I have not been able to change my avatar to any other image I try to upload? Was this feature disabled recently or something or is smf just being bullstuff again?
