The definition says that it is something widely regarded as true.
97.5% of the worlds population would likely believe in a form of creationism.

While this is hardly compelling due to humans being, for the most part, stupid, this fits the definition.

Your mother is hard and holds no scientific value.

We understand that. However, a theory is more than nothing.
Creationism is classified as a theory.

it's classified as fact by the scientific community

No.
A fact is very specific.

For instance, it is not a fact that when you let go of a ball in the air, it would drop to the ground as this cannot be guaranteed. The ball could very well fly up into the sky based on the density of the ball, or if it was magnetic and over a magnet, or any number of things. However, it is a fact that in general: objects with mass will attract each other.

The big bang theory is a very likely theory, however without any sort of time machine and ability to document it's occurrence, it is just as likely that the world was created by the slaying of a frost giant and his body was stretched out to form land, and his blood to form the oceans. (points if you get the reference to mythology)

big bang

Ok I have read through this thread and I would like to say something now seeing thsi repeated for the millionth time.
The big bang theory is just that: a theory.

Please, I do not care about if you are trying to show how all religious people are stupid or what have you, but actually get your loving facts right.

I have yet to see any job that requires you to have decent grades. At most they check for a diploma.

I would appreciate the option of spiritualist.
I believe in Christ and some of the things in the Bible, but I do not actually partake in the religion of Christianity that would have me going to church everyday when I could just pray to the Lord on my own terms than that some old guy says to do. The church itself is usually very... dumb... but I still am a Christian, I am just not religious.

I had to live in a tent in some crazy dude's back yard for a few months one year because we were homeless. (He was friends with a relative)

A couple weeks after we leave, and find a cheap-ass apartment hotel thing to live in we find out he murdered someone so we got out of there just before he snapped I suppose and thus we are lucky.

Yay optimism.
