Modification Help / Re: TCP Objects
« on: April 16, 2012, 06:20:39 PM »
I don't know how many times i've said this about this EXACT SAME situation, but:

I mean seriously, you can literally find my topic that this EXACT SAME QUESTION, just worded differently, 5-7 pages back.
The topic, which includes a solution AND completed script that needs minimal editing to properly use

And also, you do realize that the output from the google translate browser-use api is encoded, right?

I don't want to connect to google, I want to connect to google.
What? I'm not understanding this.

Google translate is part of google, if your connecting to google translate, you're connecting to google.

The way you are doing it, you may have more luck with http objects
google translate uses multiple arguments/parameters.
HTTPObjects do not support multiple parameters.

Oh yeah, i'm SOOOOO convinced to donate.
They make it seem like being a donator has SOOOOO many decent benefits.

Also, this seems like one of those servers where the only way you can possibly help out is to give the server your own hard-earned money, and the host is always so busy that he can't do any one-on-one talking whatsoever.

other than command, altCommand, and closeCommand), and .setValue()
So it doesn't allow for custom events. Just like I thought.

Quit acting like you know everything..
It's not possible to have a gui downloading system like this that is 100% secure and allows for custom, complicated gui element handling like lists, dropdown boxes, mouse events, and so on.
I'm not saying it can't get fairly close, but it's not 100% possible without it becoming an entire programming language of its own.

There is NO way to have an ENTIRELY working GUI downloader that has full functionality for ALL gui elements, that is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT safe and is capable of EVERYTHING any other client gui can do. It's just not possible. The following is possible:
  • safe
  • includes all gui elements
  • functional
  • allows for complicated, custom script elements like list handling, etc.
You can choose any two.

You do realize that GUI scripts have {'s and }'s and ;'s in them, right?

You've bumped this 3 times already, there is no full preview of the GUI, there is no tutorial.
Please fix those? This looks like it's a good mod, except that nobody knows what it looks like or how to use it.

I tend to underestimate how fast Torque is a lot, so that wouldn't surprise me.
Considering torques speed, and the fact that I needed to make my own multiplication function, I managed to:
  • Calculate 50 decimal places of the square root of almost any number in 6 seconds
  • Calculate the factorials of 2 all the way through 1500 in 15 seconds
  • and calculate 100 hex digits of pi in around 10 seconds.

So yeah, it'll be fine to run on any server, no matter how packed it may be.
