Sounds like 3.5 but it was a few years ago.

Then it was prolly 3.5 as it is the older version. It's a lot of fun if you're patient enough to learn the rules.

Me and a few friends tried it once. We decided we'd need someone who's played before to teach us. (Bad with instructions)

Haven't played since.

Did you buy the starter's kit? And were you trying to play 3.5 or 4.0?

For 3.5, I know there's a starter kit that actually gives you step by step instructions in a pre-made dungeon. Each person gets a little handout and everything.
