You have to be bloody careful when making giant replicas. Those jagged edges really spoil the effect and diminish the "wow its huge" factor.

Aside from that, I have to say this is awe  -  some. The shape is pretty damn close, I just hate the boxey edges.
We tried 3x2 flats at first, finished the top left slope, and then at 150k bricks we crashed.

Ahahaha I remember that version of it.

Jesus, that lagged out even MY computer.

Glad to see you've picked this project back up man.

Give me a dedi.  Seriously.  Give me a dedi and I promise you great works, or at least works as great as my drunken ability.

And I have to second Anti's plea to finish what I guess is our island.  Especially after returning from the Canary Islands, along with being in England and therefore having some sort of better idea as to how that kind of architecture works, it needs touching up.  It'll be awesome!  Just give it a chance.

Also my fear with the Stalingrad project is that if you really want it to be broken down and such, it's going to have kind of a limited palette and honestly it might end up kind of boring to build.  Just throwing that out there.

In regards to wizzard's ideas, I like them a lot, particularly the spirit of it.  Particularly considering how half of us don't really build anymore, I think a lot of USSR is the people.  We'd just have to be careful to keep it about that, and rein in a system that could potentially become bureaucratic, insular, and ultimately somewhat destructive.  In other words, basically what you're suggesting could either end up really awesome or turn into a gigantic circlejerk.  We're already treading on shaky ground in regards to the latter scenario, and personally my creative engine runs on fresh blood, so as long as we can keep such a system free and open I'm all for it.
