Off Topic / Does more affordable college = more degrees = less value?

Purely hypothetical

I'm having a stupid argument with this girl who believes if you want free education that you should join the military.

I pointed out that not everyone can join the military and I believe a higher education should be more affordable so everyone who wants a chance has a chance.

Although I won't give every argument she fired back with one of her arguments was that, if more people are going to college and if more people were getting degrees it would decrease the value of those degrees.

I called her argument stupid and said she was basically saying it is dumb for people to pursue a higher education and that she wanted a dumbed down country.

I could go into her other arguments but I was wondering everyone's opinion of if degrees decrease in value if more people have them. Keep in mind that school you get degrees from still hold prestige and what the world "value" really means

So this guy, Asher Potts, is this 23 year old Ukrainian man who was just arrested for posing as a high schooler and also having loveual relations with an 18 year old and 15 year old allegedly.

Heres a quick summary of his story from the article:

- Artur's (Asher's) family gave them all their money to send him to the U.S.
- He comes here on a work visa which expires so he gets a visitor's visa which also expires
- He reaches out to this couple, the Potts, who offer to help him by adopting him
- Artur, who is 20, has to drop 5 years in order to be adopted
- Artur becomes Asher Potts and is now 15 with a birth certificate stating he was born in 1997
- He goes to high school, is a straight A student, does community service and spends most of him time either   doing chores for the Potts or focusing on education
-He gets busted by the authorities and in his interview he states that he came here for a better life, that the U.S. is the land of opportunity and that he tried to do better for the society but he recognizes his crime and admits he's guilty but does not regret what he did

Although many may not know who he is, Vegan Gains in a lifting/gaming youtuber whos also a vegan (who woulda guessed) Just thought I share how stupid he is

Anyways, I kinda(?) used to watch some of his video until I realized how forgeted in the head this guy really is.

He's a sociopath who hates children and has violent thoughts of killing people. Also in that same video he talks about how he met this girl and they're planning on getting married after 6 months and he's gonna go to Belgium to marry her.

Here he is bitching like a baby about how his girlfriend of 6 months dumped him because she probably realized that he's a psychopath. Not only is he saying extremely personal information and talking stuff about "the love of his life" in this video, but he's also claiming he's getting a divorce...and he's not even married!

Other than him being a general idiot who constantly uses crude language against people but he also creates a video about another famous youtuber who found out he had cancer again. In the video VaginaGains basically says that he doesn't feel bad (because FuriousPete isn't a vegan) and he hopes he dies from his cancer. Also creating a mock shirt on the screen of FuriousPete crying with the caption "Ha Ha you're gonna die of cancer"

Other than being a loving weirdo, sociopath, and generally forget in the head, he's also vegan.

And his head's shaped like a peanut.

Police said they had perimeter secure then immediately said that they do not know the direction of travel for either party.

[Latest] Police investigating, speaking to witnesses, continue shelter in place.

Will keep updating when I get more info.

Off Topic / Whats your easiest subject in school?

Talking to gf and I said one of my easiest was history because everything is set in stone and there's no variables to it so it makes it easy for me to learn. Plus I said you can relate to people in history and its interesting to read about their lives and ideas and practices and from there you learn their timeline and what happened during their life

another easier subject for me is physiology

Whats your easiest subject? Either very general or very specific

I think his nomination for his role in The Revenant gives him a shot but Matt Damon is nominated for his role in The Martian so...

If you haven't seen either of these movies I highly recommend them

i was having this conversation with my girlfriend about whether or not whitepeoplemeet (new dating website for white people) is tribal or not

i said no and that you calling someone tribal because they're on that is kinda terrible

she said yes because it means you dont find X race attractive

Off Topic / Why do some people hate high school so much?

Theres a girl I know who goes to a technical school (1 week of actual academics and 1 week of shop classes) and all she does is complain about how hard school is and how much it sucks.

I loved high school. It was so easy and so fun. No real responsibility, no real worries, just have fun and hang out with friends. Sometimes I wish I was back in high school.

Why do some people hate it so much?

Off Topic / Krampus is the worst movie I've ever seen ever.

I'll save you the trouble now. Don't see it. Save yourself the time, the money, and the brain cells. It'd be more worth it to slam your head into a concrete wall for an hour and a half while have a spiked baseball bat shoved up your star fish.

Unfortunately my girlfriend doesn't have bleach at her house so I can pour it in my eyes and she doesn't have a drill either so I can put a hole through the front of my cranium.

I don't know if this movie is technically defined as a comedy horror but I would define it as that. Not only because the extremely cheesy dialogue at some moment but also due to the fact that it's so ridiculously bad that it's almost comical. Seriously the screenplay is so terrible.

They had good actors to work with and if done right, Krampus could have been terrifying. The director who I'm not even gonna give him the decency of looking up his name, wasted the actors potential. And as for Krampus, well you only see him attack nobody and his dumbass elves and helpers, comparable to the gingerbread man from Shrek and the flying monkeys from the Wizard of Oz, are the ones who do all the work for Krampus. Literally the most terrifying thing in the entire movies, besides the horrid dialogue, was the snowmen in the front yard.

The story had no build up and German Oma, who chooses to only speak German instead of speaking English, decides not warn them about Krampus until two family members are missing.

I got more austism from this 90 minute handicap fest than I have from my 5 years on the blockland forums

I have to do a movie review and I want some good movies I can watch and maybe do a review on.

Dr. Strangelove

Also I'm trying to rewatch Pulp Fiction but I'm 50 minutes in and I dont have a clue what the hell is going on

I got the new Moto G yesterday
Today is my birthday
Tomorrow I'm going to a Parkway Drive concert
My girlfriend got me a Julian Edelman jersey for our 1 year and it's so awesome
I'm having breakfast pancakes right now and I'll post my birthday loot later
