Off Topic / "PROTECT-IP / E-PARASITE Act" - Congress is at it again
« on: October 27, 2011, 11:27:55 PM »
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2011/10/disastrous-ip-legislation-back-%E2%80%93-and-it%E2%80%99s-worse-ever

The link basically explains it all, but for those of you with unhealthy amounts of laziness, I'll tl;dr this:

Senate bill "PROTECT-IP" has the overwhelming potential to shut down YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc.

There's also a video you can watch, but it's over 26 minutes long. Reading the EFF article would be faster.

Go here to view and sign the petition form, and also to share this on Twitter and/or Facebook.

Games / Would appreciate any help in identifying this game - resolved
« on: October 20, 2011, 11:12:50 PM »
When I was a lot younger, my parents bought a racing game for my PS2. I can't remember the name of the game and I've been racking my brain trying to think of it. Really the only way I can describe it is by describing a small portion of the gameplay, the powerups. There were quite a few of them. Ones I remember were Bomb, Nitro, Oil Slick, and the most powerful one, Tornado, that would only make itself available to you if you were in second-to-last or last place. I also remember a couple of the tracks. One of them was called "Gauntlet" and I think the shape of the track was either hexagonal or octagonal. Another one of which I cannot recall the name was shaped like a school track field, an oval shape, with the longer sides being parallel. It resembled a small coliseum.

Does this ring any bells for anyone? I can try to provide more info and details if needed.

EDIT: I also remember that some powerups could be fired forward or backward.

NEVERMIND:

Rumble Racing?

THANK YOU JUBEL <3

Who's the better person?

If you know what's good for you, you'll vote for the person who is also known as God, and who's name starts with an S and isn't Stocking.

Creativity / Google Chrome Theme - "Immortal Shadow"
« on: September 20, 2011, 12:16:31 AM »
This is a theme for Google Chrome I recently created. I used Photoshop for the image elements and Notepad++ for the color elements and the rest of the manifest.json file.

It's my first theme, and I think it turned out decently. There's always room for improvement, after all.

If you want to download it, you can do so either here (Dropbox) or here (MediaFire).

Let me know what you think, and please give me any suggestions you can think of to possibly improve it.

Off Topic / Tokyoflash Kisai Night Vision Wristwatch
« on: September 12, 2011, 11:29:40 PM »
http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/12/tokyoflash-reveals-kisai-night-vision-wristwatch-makes-telling/

Quote from: Engadget
Tokyoflash is on the loose once more, and this time it's introducing a concept that has been in the works for months on end. The Kisai Night Vision -- which was made official moments ago, first appeared on the company's blog as a mockup in August of 2010 -- and as they say, "what a difference a year makes." As of today, the LED wristwatch is up for grabs, constructed with black stainless steel, sub-surface LEDs, a hexagonal form factor and support for USB recharging. Despite your initial assumptions, it's actually capable of displaying both time and date, and there's even a built-in alarm with a "light-up animation." Fancy! It's available in black with blue, green or red LEDs, and if you order soon, you'll be able to snag one for $129 / £79 / €89; procrastinators will face a sticker of $149 / £91 / €103. Take a shufti in the gallery below.

Get the watch here: http://www.tokyoflash.com/en/watches/kisai/night_vision/

I so loving want one of these.

Off Topic / "Shock" Series
« on: August 17, 2011, 11:53:04 PM »
I'm fully aware that I may be really late on this, but Phil "Terkoiz" Lacanlale created this amazingly-animated Flash series called "Shock."

You can see all three episodes on stickpage.com, or just click on the following links:

Shock 1
Shock 2
Shock 3

Apparently they're also making a game out of this series, which will be awesome.

Go check out his channel, you will not regret it.

k.

(sorry about any possible pagestretching)

case in point:

this guy = this guy = this guy.

Loopy is a good friend of mine, but he can be a bit of an idiot sometimes when it comes to the Internet. He wanted me to make this drama so I did. He has said time and time again that he's learned his lesson after getting banned, but time and time again he's shown the very opposite.

I don't really know what else to say. I could post things that would humiliate him and make this topic all the more interesting, but we're still great friends, so I'll refrain from doing so.

A note to Badspot, if he reads this: I, for one, don't care either way if you ban him again, all I can say is that he has told me:

So, do what you will, but just be aware that he may not learn anything from a third permanent ban.

I've always wondered this, like when I want to quote someone but the topic in which the post resides is too old, and therefore I cannot quote them simply by clicking the Quote button.

So how does the whole "[quote author=someone topic=some topic date=some numbers]" thing work?
