You might not be defending socialism, but you're not defending a pure and unaltered capitalism.

Anyways, I have read accounts of people who work in unions and than into another job of the same field and the changes. Union rules state that everyone must be paid the same regardless of any factors whatsoever. With that in mind, what is the point of trying harder? You can make stuffty run of the line stuff or quality stuff and you get paid the same. Also, it's often difficult to be fired in most unions. While it is undeniable that Labor Unions were a necessity during the Industrial Revolution, preventing companies from overworking employees. That was the transformation from a third world country to a first world country. Now, companies that compete also have to keep their workers satisfied in order to stay in business. We are a modern society with a market that is fully capable of governing its self along with basic law enforcement and a proper legal system.

You're theory is well intended, but easily abusable. The current american legal system works in a flawed way, so that the loser of a court case does not have to pay the legal expenses of the winner. keep this in mind. Say I am an employer, and you are a female looking for a job. If I employed you and paid you less based on work, you might sue under this equality law, saying that I was being discriminative of your gender. This may not be fact, but you have sued me. You will probably lose, but under this system I still owe my lawyer for defending a pointless case. Now, I am drowned in legal expenses and might have to close down. That is the fear of employers under this law. They call people like this "Lawsuit Bombs" because of this. Not every single female is like this, no sir, but the ones who are like this scare everyone else out of hiring all of them.Replace "Female" with anything you please.
And now more females would be out of work.

Forcing people to not discriminate based on gender isn't getting rid of a free market. stuff like this is essential to make sure people don't loving abuse the forget out of low-income workers. If you're so well researched, go research the kind of stuff that happened before labor unions.
