Well if you can refute it then be my guest. You're full of excuses my friend.
A frying pan is not an effective weapon that can kill en masse, a gun is. Apples to oranges my friend.

47
Blunt objects like clubs were weapons of yesterday. Just like blades were when a sword was practical.

You sound really silly saying that.
Groping around in the dark for arguments are we?

I'll shoot the national socialist Storm troopers on my doorstep.
Because Liberals are national socialists right?

48
frying pans are lethal weapons what is the point of this argument
Where frying pan design to kill things: No. Guns: Yes

You sound really silly saying that.

49
But you see, it's not just a piece of paper.
Yes, it's the American Constitution, and it's important. But when it's law permits anyone to buy lethal weapons without regulation, then there's a problem.

50
how
People shouldn't have gun rights because a piece of paper says so. They should have them for being responsible and safe, eg. not a crackpot.

51

Fail to see how this is me saying no gun rights. I'm saying that people who are unwilling to talk about an issue because the constitution says so are acting like children. It's an entitlement I feel only should be granted to responsible individuals.

52
But we wouldn't be allowed to have guns, even though we have the right? No.
Quote the time I said that. I dare you.

53
nice surrender
Sure, whatever you want to think. I was tired, and the discussion was going nowhere. Drac was set in his ways, as was I. No point in continuing the argument.

What is it with people always starting to collect the guns after some idiot starts a shootout or a bombing. If you want the crime rate to go down, you could Legalize drugs to destroy the black market, which would defeat organized crime. If you want these damn psychos who open fire in public places because of their own anger disappear, make sure that no child in this world gets to grow up being the target of violence. If you want muggers and crooks to disappear, make a system to give support to all of these people so people who have resorted to crime to get their money get a house. Its that easy. I'm pretty sure the government has enough money to do that.

This whole gun control situation can be easily compared to piracy in video games. The development team puts all of this DRM garbage into the game which forgets the honest consumer who bought the game with their own money, but doesn't do a damn thing for the people who download the game free. If you want piracy to go down, you need to have good services that offer your product for sale easily. If you want murders and all other gun related crime to go down, make sure no one gets into a situation in which taking the law into their own hands is the way to go. Taking guns away from the public and its people won't do a damn thing. Criminals buy their weapons from the black market so there is no paper trail to their identity. If the governments increased their police resources and funding, I'm pretty sure in the end no one would even want to buy guns because there is no point carrying one around unless you like to shoot tin cans at your summer cottage.

"The one who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither" -Benjamin Franklin.
This is true, I agree with everything in this statement.

55
just throw it all out actually
freedom of religion? assembly? speech? forget IT
You didn't listen to what I said at all did you? I said it should be reviewed and rewritten for modern times, all the rights would remain the same.

56
Ok, I'll rearrange it.
He's saying that if things continue the way they are then we are going to be a fallen regime, you dipstuff.
Ok, now you're just being a richard about it.

Anyway, I'm going to bed, I did enjoy the debate though. Dracpot is a coolbro and all that jazz.
It's nice to have an open discussion without insults or ignorant richardwads.

Leaving anything alone for too long without much consideration is just a bad idea.
Carry on Sir!
Thank you, and goodnight.

57
You dipstuff, he's saying that if things continue the way they are then we are going to be a fallen regime.
I won't take your argument seriously until you start your sentences without insulting me.

58
Are you serious? Do you also think the first amendment is outdated as well?
Yep, it needs to be rewritten for modern times. The core principals should be the same, but the wording is often outdated and convoluted.

59
Does it matter? We have assault rifles in many homes and less than 1% of all guns in civilian circulation have even killed somebody.
Yes it does, just because an old paper says you should have guns, doesn't mean you have the right. The 2nd amendment is outdated, heck the whole thing is.

Also, 1% is too many.

60
That's hardly true at all. Most people don't keep guns in case of rebellion, but for self-defense, or maybe they just collect them. An armed populace ensures it's freedom, and they will only distrust the government when they start to curb that freedom, which is exactly what you are witnessing in the country.
I'm not saying remove the guns. I'm implying that militias are silly and ineffective, and that people shouldn't treat the government as the enemy. Besides, you're ignoring all of the rights that the people have received lately: gay marriage, drug legalizations, improvements towards racial rights, etc.
