turned render distance down to Far + 112 from Extreme. went from 30 FPS to around 50 FPS. all other settings maxed out including 16x AA with OptiFine. feels good.

If you loaded the chamber, didn't change anything, and just hit tab, you entered game view without building the chamber. You have to build the chamber every time you restart the editor/load a chamber.
