Off Topic / Re: Windows 7 on an external HDD
« on: January 05, 2011, 11:10:45 PM »
Here's the problem. It was installed on some other PC that I tore apart, so it' drivers are on there. I can't run the installer in the laptop with the HDD plugged in because it says that windows 7 "isn't suitable for USB HDDs" and won't install.

So I'm basically stuck in that way.

Yeah that's what I figured. It's Windows way of stopping computer manufacturers from stealing their customer's OS which is why computers are required to have the key labeled on them when you sell them. At least from what I know

Windows isn't liking that laptop's hardware because it's detecting it as a new hardware so it's doing its little thing to prevent you from "pirating it". Only way to fix is re-installing Windows to my knowledge.

And people said it couldn't be done. :D

... It's not happening anyway though. I still get BSoD and as far as I can tell, it's not going to load any time soon.

Is it a clean drive? Did you install Windows 7 onto it recently or did you already have it on there? I know Windows doesn't like new hardware and that may be the case. If you didn't recently install Windows on the drive try re-installing it.

Huh. Interesting. Never thought of trying that. I don't see why it wouldn't work unless Windows 7 is detecting it as a device rather than a primary disk drive.

Programs like XSplit or Xfire's recording feature (ya wtf who knew) can do what you want though. Pretty much any desktop streaming program can.

I thought Xfire can only livestream?

A lovey beast who likes to hear Asians scream in livestreams.

Cool guy. Much more likable than how he used to be. Still don't know why people hold grudges against him. He doesn't deserve the hate he gets.

She's a good singer.

She's actually not that bad. Sure a hell of a lot better than me that's for sure.

Could be binded to ctrl + x by default?

Could be quite abusive though since players could spam undo and redo but it's not like players can just keep planting bricks while hitting ctrl + z but then again they could use the duplicator to cause server lag with this feature.

I don't want to resize the videos, just compress them.

I want one that compresses the videos by itself so that I don't need to record a video and then manually compress it so I have room to record another video and so on.

File size not video size. :/

And it's funny because Fraps does use compressed AVI. I'd hate to see uncompressed.

also fraps is just terrible.

Like I said it has ridiculously large file sizes but if use another program sure the file size will be small but the quality will be complete stuff. It'll look like a mesh of colors. Fraps is a somewhat crappy program but the best out of all the other crappy programs.

Well, some games come with their own recording software, like Source Recorder

Source Recorder only does demo files I believe which is not an actual video file type. It's just a data file type that rein-acts the footage you "recorded" by using actual gameplay.

As for recording software I'd use Fraps. The file size is ridiculously large, it costs quite a bit of money, it can be a huge CPU whore, but it's still one badass reliable program.

In other words a redo command included with the undo command?

I support this idea.

Journal Log #433

January 8th 2018: Days and days I ravagely scratch at the wooden coffin, my fingers bleeding. A rage begins to consume my mind as I scream, "NO! I was suppose to prove them wrong! Not wind up as a corpse!" Suddenly my left fist swings at the coffin and splinters of wood and dust clouds my vision. I had broken free from my prison. The choke point inside me was starting to take effect on my body. My head tilts down as I stare in both fear and wonder as my hands immediately heal the bloodied gashes and cuts. A grin finds its way on my face as I begin to walk through the graveyard.

I had been so full of joy with my success that I hadn't noticed that there was no sign of life in the city. Cars sat in the deserted streets, covered in ash and dust along with the smell of death. Finally reality begins to set in as I notice the burned buildings, the bone fragments scattered in the rubble. Not even an atomic bomb could amass to this power. No... He wouldn't have... Tom... I turn and see a decaying TV, flashing a looping news feed filled with static. "New York C--- has been str--k with some sort of exp-lo--n. Offici-ls have b-------"

"No." I whisper to myself, "Tom tried to replicate the choke point..."

October 19th, 2040: Tom hadn't gave up even with my death. He spent four years of his life trying to replicate my research. Day and night he tried to finish what I had started. The only thing he ended was half of the United States. His experiment went horrible wrong. His choke point was extremely unstable. He didn't manage to charge the atoms properly which caused thousands of nuclear chain reactions to go off at once. The chaos didn't end there. The explosion also emitted strange radiation that would mutate anything at alarming rates. It created creatures, abominations, monsters... Once there were no more survivors to eat they moved onto populated areas, consuming everyone and everything. Earth had become a living hell.

Dogs turned into demonic hounds, humans turned into spliced assassins, rats turned into silent killers, and it was my research that had caused this. "Time is just a matter of perception." a thought begins to form in my head, "I can still fix this. I need to find my lab first if it's still in once piece." That wasn't the real issue though. It was the fact if I'd still be in one piece by the time I reached the lab...

Actually pretty good.

Thanks.

Drama / Re: Saying Lag doesn't make it better
« on: January 05, 2011, 09:16:23 PM »
I agree and half the time it's not even my server.

It's the fact that they have crappy computers that can't even handle more than five bricks.

Which is why I have almost every freaking form of lag in my e-tard filter.
