Well, more that it hit Google. The water would be Google+ as it floods in. Of course that does present the problem of "Then YouTube would always be floating on Google+" so this brown townogy wouldn't work in that sense... I overcomplicated it, I suppose.

Oh, and then Google+ would just be frozen, condensed Google+... Definitely wrong.

"It was once said, *quote*"

^ Like that? There's no pinpoint... that's sad.

Original Title: Help sourcing a quote

I need help sourcing this quote. It works really well for my essay, but there's no pinpoint creator:

Quote
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Of course, it could be that the main attributing author just never came to be recognized. I've been told Cayla Mills, but I can't find any information on the individual. I'd rather only use a quote if the person can be identified. I could work with it if there isn't an identified author, but the problem is half the locations hosting this quote seem to try giving it a creator, so I can't tell if it does have one or not.

Edit: Could you say "NAME contracted cancer?" Or is there a better word. Contract seems like a viral problem from someone to another.

Edit2: As the new title says: Are "diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma" and "diffuse pontine glioma" the same? Just want to make sure before I go saying definitions. They seem to be, but who knows what implications one word could have to a meaning...

I don't think people understand. I'm pretty sure any OS can have some form of malware, be it phishing software or whatever.

You could say game systems are more secure because they are more limiting in transaction. It's difficult to pass a prominent virus to someone else because the networks are so specific in what data crosses the line. Beyond that, all the servers it passes through filter it for its needs. You can't contract a virus through online play - you'd have to manually transfer bad files. And even in that case, what would it do besides do some crazy stuff to make the servers ban you?

... Sorry, that just came to mind. The more limited the platform, the less likely a virus can exist. That's one of the few pluses of an online gaming console.

I'd like to just be exploring and see a tower or two (2-3 floor at most) in the distance. I go over, pass through a large gate, and there's villagers going around. Iron Golems are guarding the gates, etc. It'd still have a very small appearance, but a little bigger and a little more structured... Like an established village instead of an open village.

This is getting a little ridiculous

I Googled, and people are reporting increased shiny rates in X/Y.

Imagine if they added extremely, extremely rare cities. Very small cities, but the point is they are taller structures and a little bit more structured/organized.

Google Barges is just another one of those google apps. I can't remember where I read about it, but it's a place where a few people will be selected to beta test official google apps and updates to see if they work. They were probably made after the inception of Google+ so that there would be a large enough thing to test. Basically Google Barges is going to be a beta testing service and the final Google app. I've already envisioned a typical visit to the Google Barge center.

So instead of paying for people to come around to beta test stuff, they just bring the tech to them.

Then someone breaks in due to lax control on hacking/other devices to break in and they're boned. :cookieMonster:

this is some handicapped stuff right here

Yes. Yes it is. Sorry, it's just weird. I tried to look up more information on Google+ comments, specifically Google themselves making an official statement, and instead found reports of Google making some weird barge buildings.

What good will shutting down Youtube will do for Google

No no, they'd be sinking the data. AKA videos, statistics, OLD YouTube accounts. Imagine the possibilities of having barges they could sink to kill old YouTube. From there, they could claim control over YouTube's future directly, pushing changes continuously.

I'm bullstuffting a lot, yes, but it does seem weird Google is building barges with huge buildings on them, and they reveal information the same day YouTube gets forgeted by them... I wouldn't be surprised if they tried killing off old YouTube data so they would have an easier time integrating YouTube into Google+. Kill off everything incompatible/that they don't want, integrate what they do want. Eventually YouTube domain will redirect to plus.google.com/videos or something.

How is it a weird time for them to announce the purpose of it? Google changing their comment system isn't anything that hasn't happened before. They've been integrating Google+ and youtube for quite some time now. They just took one of the biggest steps recently.

Yep, I know. Just that barge buildings are weird as hell, and Google doing it seems odd.

remember google video

oh god

I miss Google Video slightly just because there was unique uploads on that which were killed when it went away. Not like I used it much, but the 1-5 times I did I'd rather be able to view again.

Why cant google+ make like a google video and get the forget out of here

Because Google Video lost to YouTube, so they bought YouTube. Then Google+ lost to Facebook, so they hope merging both will make it powerful enough to work both ways.

Off Topic / Conspiracy Theory: Google to sink YouTube via Google Barges

Theory: Google used Google+ comments to hide Google Barges from the YouTube community's focus. I'll bet they plan to say they've moved large amounts of servers onto each barge, whereas they have moved all of YouTube's data. The barges will then "mysteriously" sink, whereas Google can go "Well, YouTube is gone, but we have the framework ready on Google+! Your Google+ accounts will totally work."

Serious talk: Well, weird time for them to reveal the purpose of these things... I don't trust Google.

That video is sad.

  • A previous version of the page shows this was in Beta. You used to be able to opt out channel-by-channel, but obviously that's gone now.
  • Comments can come from mentions of the respective video. That means if you comment the link to a video with text such as "Your tutorial is so much better than this one." or something, Google+ will probably make that comment also appear on the video you are badmouthing.

More on this being a problem in a second.
  • You can hide your comments on a video to only appear to some. I assume people could gather giant Google+ mega-groups and use them to be richards on videos without others knowing.
  • YouTube video links become linked by the videos text. I could see this exploited for private videos and such to get names, if they haven't already blocked that. Not a major breach, but if you're a major game studio keeping a trailer in scheduled upload, a leaked URL could go to a leaked title could go to massive problems.
  • I have yet to see Disable replies and Disable reshares, and disabling replies is a bad idea if you don't realize your statement doesn't pan out. I've seen many a person sure about something comment, get top comment, then get taken down by people who know more and correct everyone upvoting. If you can't reply... bad.
  • They didn't even wait for their other mediums (apps and such) to upgrade their comments system. :|

https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/111870

  • If you personally remove a comment, it removes all replies to that comment... What?
  • You can ban a user from your channel. That's just an awful idea. While there are horrible people, the worst of them spam accounts, so this is no solution. Furthermore, if your comment appears on another video because Google+ saw you link it, you could be banned from that channel without even knowing. The uploader would see you badmouthing and ban you. Just because you are badmouthing doesn't mean you care to fight with them. I don't always agree with uploaders, but other times I'll try to make productive/helpful comments. If it's possible for me to get banned just because I mention the video, that's horrible. Google+ is a snitch.

That along with the fact that most people won't remember to unban people they ban because, hell, why think to do that? You say one thing wrong, the uploader is sleepy, and suddenly you have lost the ability to talk. On top of that, bigger YouTubers can't watch their messages, meaning no disputing.
