Off Topic / I don't get it, why is it harder for adults to learn how to play video games?

A few weeks ago I was playing super smash bros. brawl with my dad.

It was extremely difficult for him to understand the controls. He's a purchase manager, and he's taken up two years of accounting. I don't get why it would be difficult.

Maybe it's because he's not used to games? He plays Eve: Online all the time


Anyways, as soon as I find a suitable answer, I'll lock this thread.

But seven years later, in 2XXX, the team created super robot bears, who then turned on their republican masters and became communist national socialist super robot bears! But a plague broke out among the bears, and they turned into Super Robot Zombie national socialist Bears!

As their bloodthirst starts, a group of heroes band together to save their town, Doomsville, from being overrun by Super Robot Zombie national socialist Bears!

Draw your character, submit them, and join the ranks against the Super Robot Zombie national socialist Bears, and protect your country from them!

Off Topic / What IS Religion?

A dumb question, but what is Religion? I had my thoughts of what it was originally, but you guys interpret many things over religion that makes my thoughts biased.

So, I thought religion was belief in a deity, or an all-knowing being that supposedly created man-kind. But, after seeing all the chaos religion has started, it seems like there's more to the topic of religion. I want to know what religion is, exactly. Why does everybody hate talking about it even though they always do? It's always "It's one of these religion threads, everybody's talking in it".

So why does religion start all kinds of bloody wars? Why religion?

Off Topic / Messed up dreams abroad

Last night, I had this dream where my family took me to France. I was riding along, but when we stopped at france, I instantly appeared standing up with several other people. Somebody stated that in france if you move at all you get shot. So somebody moves, and gets shot. And died.

I was utterly horrified. I was so terrified of something, I kept thinking to myself something is going to happen that will be the worst thing that can happen.

So I "teleport" to some paved area with four other people who are apparently my friends. One of them starts talking and he gets shot. Then all of a sudden I'm running away from france.

And that's about it.

I have seen lately a bunch of people venting their anger upon this forum. Now, usually it's the normal thing. But people are getting more aggressive. It looks like people have forgotten how to be nice and in a good mood. Nobody wants to kill or harm you, nobody truly hates you, so why the hate, guys?

Normally I wouldn't be the person to say this, but you guys can be pretty hateful. Now, I don't want you getting at any ideas of me insulting you, or anything. But you really need to cheer up and keep a stiff upper lip. Things are only as they seem. If you expect to see a bunch of idiots, no matter the case you will see what you expect. Your expectations are too high, nobody is perfect.

As the saying goes, appreciate it while it's still here, because there's no walking backwards. What you say and what you do reflects not only on yourself, but others as well. You can call somebody an idiot, and chances are you will convince them they are an idiot. This community needs to diffuse itself. Everybody acts like somebody is out to get them, and by doing so they are always mad.

So, for the last time said; You don't need to be like this, you don't need to have so much hate. People are friendly to friendly people, and a little happiness and patience goes a long way. It only takes so few people to make a whole crowd cheer up.


Even if this is the internet, you don't need to be hateful and blunt. Convince yourself that your current behavior is hurtful, and try to work around the difficulties.

This is that thread where you post screen captures you've taken. To take a screen capture, hold CTRL and Prntscreen and it will take a screen capture of the focused window on your computer! CTRL-V that picture into an image program and save it, and then post it here!

You have to say what the game the capture is from, unless it's easy to tell. Like if you've taken a picture of the logo of the game or something along the lines..

Oh yes, and PLEASE resize the image. Nobody likes page-stretches.

Creativity / The Survivor's Story - Minecraft in terms of what the character sees and thinks.

Minecraft, as a fun game, takes on an interesting perspective.

What would you really do if you ended up in that situation? I don't really think you'd end up punching trees, crafting swords and defeating satan's minions.

You character has to be Guy Steel, as no ordinary joe could do this stuff. Your bare hands could not take down a tree, you couldn't craft a sword from a lump of iron and a stick of wood. So what if you take the perspective of your average joe, stranded on a deserted island? A story is made out of it.

So, without anything else to say..

I don't even know why I'm documenting this trip. I mean, it's not like anybody wants to read my "life's adventures". But, I guess I can do so much as explaining where the hell I am.

My name is Bill. My last name doesn't matter. I won the lottery, how lucky am I? Not so lucky. A couple of drinks, a few decisions and I'm on my first air ride. I'm as nervous as can be. I really figured out that this was a complete waste of money, not that I care, I'm filthy rich...But I hate flying, I now know this. I can't see anything because of this storm and it looks like I'm riding on this giant sea of angry clouds. It's at least five AM, I'm tired, grumpy and unsettled. The ride is bumpy, nothing is edible and the programming is crap. All I can do is talk to the moron sitting next to me, and frankly, he's not that appealing in conversations.

But I guess I can't complain, most people have to expect this. I still have to get to home, though. Don't want to miss Christmas. My wife will kill me. Five days...five days...


I awake in pain, my leg is killing me. It's cold, but I'm warm in certain areas. I keep hearing an engine rattle as if it's broken, or something. My vision is blurry, but I see sand and snow..

Sand and snow? I have landed already?! I don't remember getting off the plane!

But then, I notice that sound is coming from in front of me. It's a large white blur with fire coming out of th-

The realization shocked me like a thousand volts. I slept through a plane crash. I have bandages on my leg, it's not that painful, but it hurts. Where is everybody? Half of the freaking plane is missing, am I the only survivor? After coming to the conclusion of me being alone, I stand up. My leg is bruised, but that's it. I landed right next to the ocean. It looks like it's seven something AM. I can only hope I can find the rest of the people. Somebody had to pull me out of that plane.

So, guess what? It's snowing. Hard. It's like a freaking blizzard! Isn't this just great? Five days from Christmas and this is my present! What about my family? What about my kids and my job?! Joan must be worried sick.

I can only hope somebody knows I'm missing.

It's probably around noon. I'm tired, hungry and bored as hell. The mainland of this island concludes of trees and rocks. This place would looks barren without the trees. Just the occasional chicken, or boar. None seem to mind me just passing through their home. I'm still scared, I know nothing about survival, I don't even know how to start a freaking fire! How the heck did my plane crash?! I just dosed off for a couple of minutes. And why did I have to survive?! I am a crappy person, nobody ever noticed me.

I'm just Bill...that guy.

There's a weird cave in the side of a mountain. At first it looked cool, but I've had my second doubts. The place is pitch black. I dug a hole through the wall, I let light in. The dirt is so soft..

So my newly crafted home is possibly the safest spot in the whole island right now. I set up a bed with a bunch of leaves and a dirt pillow. Might be uncomfortable, but it's not as bad as sleeping on the stone ground. This cave is just more of a large inlet in the side of a mountain. Just big enough for one guy. I need to think about what I'm going to do. I mean, I can't stay in this cave forever, a man has to eat!

So I just doze off. Not a worry in the world..saving that stress for tomorrow..

I wake up slightly happier than yesterday. Maybe I'm glad I'm just not dead, maybe I got good rest. I don't know. So first I need to find a rotten dead tree. Don't ask why, but I have an idea. Maybe I can knock it down (Longshot, I know.) and use the lumber from it to make some kind of tool. I don't see any dead trees. After hours of pointless exploring, I find a dead log in the ground. Just my luck. It falls over by the touch. I drag it straight back to my cave. Now to find a way to get some useful timber off of this. I took some vine fibers and tied a rock to a stick tightly. This could be an axe. So I strike it. Just a dent. I give a heavier strike, it splits open the wood, another strike and another..and another! A log splits off. It was tough wood, but hollow. Really, really useful. I can make somewhat of wooden planks for this, it could be used as a way to build some kind of house.

Now this may sound crazy, but not only this, but I could be able to make a tougher axe. I mean, I could use the plank, sharpen it with a rock, and find a way to drill a stick into it, and find an adhesive tough enough to keep it together. This way I can make more axes, and finally be able to cut down trees with ease.

Well, it doesn't look anything like an axe, but it did the job. Those trees got cut straight down. My home needed some improvement so I used some wooden boards and put siding on the walls by putting wooden "nails" through them into the wall. The soft rocks is disturbing but useful.

You play as a dwarfish dwarf. As in a dwarf with dwarfism. You start out as the people there are making fun of you for being small an weak, and while trying to impress them, you fall off the cliff, and you start your adventure.

It's fun because it's addicting and cool. Controls are the arrow keys, Z, X, C and P.

Okay, let me start off by saying some of these can be a little loud. The loudest has to be Not gonna rain. But still, these are good horror songs.

Let's see. All is the first shock song, Claw Finger is that crazy woman's theme. Die is Pyramid head's theme, Not Gonna Rain is just an enemy theme, I believe. Not Tomorrow is Lisa's theme, The otherside is Silent hill v.2's theme and Tears Of... is the good ending+ theme.

Pumpkin flavors, peppermint, sugar cookie and stuff like that. No matter if it's instant pudding or not it's like a mouthgasm!

The stuff is the bomb. These jello pudding come in flavors all the time like Devil's food, or dark fudge chocolate. Not to forget banana cream and butterscotch and my favorite vanilla cream pie. It's so worth the money, and it only takes 18 minutes to prepare.
