Flare does more, and since Fireball can't really be reused on the same monster most of the time due to the cooldown, is more mana efficient as a pull spell.

But there are so many spells, and I only have enough points to max somewhere around 4 of them.

Well if you have the new version you should have noticed the Flamers, several of the Cannons, and the Gatling aren't really balanced.

But those are also made by the same person who made AAL...

Most of the mods I use only add bunker tiles right now.  I'm not partial to most of the weapon or actor mods.
