I think that you should add Falconer, Rhapsody of Fire and/or Týr to the Power Metal section.

The reason I made this post is not to add unfair criticism, but I use this topic to find bands that I might listen to. I love HammerFall and like Elvenking, Kamelot and Stratovarius because of their similar sound. But Wintersun's vocals seem too screech-y to be Power Metal and I think they should be removed, even if the instrumental is still close to what most Power Metal is.

You also mentioned that Power and Folk go together and Falconer is the prime example of this.

I don't see the issue with the Black Rose, so I just got rid of that one.

As for the Jag head, that's a byproduct of the angle that the wrench ends in. I could flatten out the model a little bit, but I don't really think it's a problem. What I'm saying is, that bit IS properly smooth shaded and all that, but it doesn't matter. The geometry outweighs the smoothing.

Now, for the Jag handle, I suppose you could say that's an issue, but it doesn't really look bad, at least in my opinion.

And finally, the handle on the revolver is both a byproduct of the messy mesh that I have since fixed and the way that Blender handles smooth shading.

It sounds like I'm just rejecting all of your criticism, but I'm just trying to tell you that I have it under control.

So, the two year old model that I exported straight from my old computer to Blender had one spot of Triangulation that I didn't fix?

Sue me.

However, I resent the implication that I don't smoothshade my models when needed. Now, for some examples:

(Handle)

(Blade)

(Blade)

(Handle)

(Blade)

There's more, but I think you get the point.

I was originally under the impression that Squideey was responding to my SMG, that's why I responded to him. I think it is unfair to assume that because I have a model that I made 2 years ago with a bit of triangulation on the handle, I don't utilize smooth shading. I also feel the need to point out that the time it takes to export, pose and render is not worth it to redo once I notice a bit of triangulation.

Just a request; can you guys please use some smooth-shading on your models for once? Just learn how to use edgesplit and sharp edges. A few default Blockland models use it including the blockhead model itself.
I'm pretty sure most people do that. I know that I do.

As for the model, it's just a couple of cylinders and the handle. That is to say, it's not complicated and I don't think you could call it a proper model, it just doesn't look like 1 object, it looks thrown together. You might want to try to use a reference image of a gun to model something, instead of just working from your imagination.

I export to 3DS, the superior file format. It keeps the textures and the groups from MS3D to Blender.

If you use 2.49, I have a file that I just import the model into, pose and render. It has all of the settings and stuff to make the renders look like mine, if you want that.

What the hell?

Anyways, I'm super glad that I found my old SMG model.

I REALLY didn't want to remake it.

Someone needs to re-do the tf2 weaponset. the blockland tf2 weapons are broken and unbalanced. flamethrower doesnt airblast, shotguns dont have clips but just shoot without reloading, same with the pistols, same with the grenade launcher, the spy knife isnt even a 1hitkill either. Also, the sniper rifle does not headshot and only works if its charged, and most people dont know how to charge it.
Especially the fact that the invisibility watches dont hide your name when your within 10 bricks of the cloaked player. AND the dead ringer is a dead give-away because when you equip it it looks like your not holding any weapon. what idiot walks around without a weapon out? a dead ringer spy. Therefore, useless. Also the sentries cant be sapped.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Claymore

The rest of that pack is arse though. The closest thing we have right now is the one that GCat made but, as usual, hasn't released because he's a monday, or the landmine that's really wonky.
I might try to make one for H&KE though, since this is actually something needed.
Yeah, I should have made some better models but that was 2 years ago and I've gotten a little bit better.

Edit: For clarity, I made the crappy models for the accessories, the weapon models (Many of which are really good) were made by Althar.

Can't you just give your friend 30 bucks and get them to buy a steam card?

Edit: Or was this already suggested and denied?
