The captain walks into the room, grim. "I hate to break this news, but I have too. The Chinook carrying many of our pilots has been shot down over who-knows-where. We... have combat S and R working on the situation but we haven't found anything yet." He turns and walks out of the room briskly.

The man looks at his fellow controllers, horrified. "We... we just lost a helo. It was a Chinook, several brave men were on there. I only got parts of the coordinates. Notify S and R."

I cleaned my ACR on the way back.

The pilot had been found by combat S and R, completly unconcious and fading. The cargo had been found. The Chinook's wings beat loudly above my head, and I closed my eyes and listened. It was like a lullaby. I was almost asleep but I heard a sound... of jets.

It was a Foxhound. I looked out the tiny porthole to see a missile streaking right at the front rotor blades.

The whole helicopter did a 180 when the missile hit, and 2 soldiers were taken down by shrapnel. The chopper flipped over, spinning and tumbling, and I hit the floor hard. I heard the pilot making desperate radio calls, and then the helicopter hit the ground and everything went to black.

I woke up, seeing a smashed and burning Chinook in my blurry vision. I groan, and then fall unconcious again.

I have a 99 cent one from china, got it off ebay. works great for skype, and anything else that doesn't require more than decent sound quality.

edit:


here it is, $2 but it doesn't bend like in the picture, nor would I recommend doing that to it.

It needs to pick up voice well, and it needs to have a decent sized cord as my tower is in a weird position. Sorry but it won't work.

Edit: I searched "old standalone microphone" and everything I got looked ten years younger than the one we have xD

Here is an 8 dollar one I was looking at...



...but it had stuff reviews and it looked cheap so no.
