Help / ghost bricks disappearing randomly

I will be placing a brick, and all of a sudden the ghost will disappear. I did not hit insert, it just went away. Checked the console, nothing unusual. This happens on all of the bricks. I can still place it.

This is only taking a few months because the ships can jump to light-speed for about fifteen minutes, but then must slow down to let the jump drive cool.
