Problem is you /can't/ do that unless you actually learn how to code stuff, and so what has the website actually done to solve to problem?well, first of all, it's creating interest. you can see what programming can do without knowing how to do it yourself. I decided to learn to use HTML because I saw websites, and I wanted to be able to make my own. the websites that inspired that weren't websites with lists of resources for learning HTML. but it still did it
Yes they are. The 'programming projects' on the website do not resemble any actual programming language. It's not even a primer for programming languages because it requires no math at all. It's definitely misinforming people because the website itself is called 'Made With Code' but absolutely none of the projects available to visitors are actually made with code.I don't think those first things are supposed to be the focus
The issue is that it's not gonna help make women any less underrepresented in STEM fields by misinforming young people about what programming actually is.but they aren't misinforming anyone
Do you mean 'movie hacking'? If so, that's generally just used as a plot device and movies aren't actually trying to pass it off as real programming/hacking/whatever.uh
How are you supposed to create interest in programming by presenting it as something it's completely not?isn't that what video game publishers do?
to create interest
yes, but what does this have to do with the threadwell nothing, but you ignored the pm, and if you hadn't seen it, sending another wouldn't do any good, so that was out of the question, and I'm not gonna make an entire thread for it, so this was the best solution
