I don't think c++ is really a good place to go for making games

Or change compat. mode to the latest OS.I only ran the game in compatibility mode, didn't change anything for the operating system in general
Under Interface on Steam settings, "Enable DirectWrite [...]" is probably checked, meaning Steam's font is separate from your system, which means the way your system is displaying fonts is messed up, which hopefully would be fixed by running the ClearType thing.yessssssss
