General Discussion / House Freebuild [OFFLINE]
« on: December 19, 2015, 05:26:46 PM »

House freebuild is where you build in a giant modter house.
Info:
House freebuild is much like one of the last freebuilds I hosted called the staticmap freebuild.
You can build in an entire house, made out of modterrain, as all of the house is made from public bricks.
Our autosaver (rtb autosaver) saves all the ownerships properly, so the house stays public even after reloading.
In the house are a total of seven rooms, the hallway, bedroom, bathroom, storage room, living room, kitchen, and garden.
Not to mention, there's a lot of secrets, waiting to be discovered, and built in.
The entire house totals up to 20,242 bricks.
The entire houses' size is 1384 x 1752 x 1160 plates.

(if the title is not 'house freebuild', then it's not being hosted.)

Off Topic / Computer STILL randomly rebooting?
« on: December 16, 2015, 11:32:06 AM »
So I've tried a lot of times to fix this and it just hasn't damn worked.
Before, my computer used to randomly reboot under heavy load, I assumed from a faulty power supply as when it rebooted an error in the bios shows up saying there was a power surge
So, I've replaced that power supply with a better one, but it still reboots.
However this time, it seems to be completely random. When my computer's under heavy load, it doesn't reboot, everythings normal
but it seems on random occasions, it still reboots. Two times so far, and I'm frightened that I could be in the middle of an update or something and mess up my system.
Last time it crashed, only 40-50% of my cpu was in use, whilst 5 out of 8 gb of ram was being used.
Another thing, before it used to have that error in the bios. However, now the bios acts normal.
Also, at one point when the computer crashed, instead of rebooting everything was just frozen. As much as I tried to do anything nothing was happening. I had to force-reboot.

Any suggestions? I may have to check the power connections and general connections again just to be sure that's all in properly.

Forum Games / v20
« on: November 23, 2015, 01:12:30 PM »
So you're a person on a random v20 server.
You don't really know too much about the game but you try and play it anyway.
You also somehow don't know how you got the game. Maybe you have a disorder. Who knows?

What should we do first? Should we explore where we are? Should we wonder about how we got here? Should we kill ourselves and/or rape ourselves?

Help / Blockland Crashing on Start-up (fixed)
« on: November 06, 2015, 03:16:10 PM »
I have already (kinda) fixed this problem, but I'm posting the solution incase anyone else has this issue.
If you've developed or is helping developing one of these problem add-ons, please see if you can fix.

So I turned on blockland, and it crashed on startup.
After testing a couple times, it turns out Support_Updater, Gamemode_Slayer and System_BlocklandGlass are causing my client to crash. I'm not sure why because it just crashes when it tries to create a tcpobject.
I removed these from my add-ons folder and the problem seems to be gone.
I've attached a console.log of the game on startup. The only reason why the trace starts near the end is because the game crashes before getting to the main menu if I attempt to use -trace.

However, is this a problem with the add-on? I haven't heard anyone else getting this issue so it could just be me. If you're convinced it's just me who's being dum, tell me how I could potentially fix this and I'l try.

General Discussion / Is anyone interested in themebuild?
« on: November 06, 2015, 01:22:22 PM »
Themebuild: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=286680

I started hosting freebuild as years ago I used to host freebuilds with multiple themes on the same server. This just led to the server feeling empty, though.
Then, I had the idea to make it so the themes rotate every couple hours.
I could never be able to create that idea, so I abandoned it.
years later, I remembered the idea again, and figured out that it could actually work.
Then themebuild was created.

However, not as much people liked the idea then I thought, and I can see why.
It seems that people don't want to have to suddenly stop making their build due to the theme changing, and with the two-hour span for each theme, it takes quite a while to be able to continue that build. It seems that for some people, two hours isn't enough. Not to mention, if you join half-way through, you'll have to wait an hour just to get to the next theme only so you have time.
Also, people don't like certain themes. For me, I don't really like the space theme too much. Well, I like the theme, but I suck at making spaceships and other space-related things. You'd have to wait for two hours, doing nothing but jetting around, just to wait until the theme you like comes up. Again, not too ideal. What if you wait all that time, then find out that you have to go for whatever reason? All that time would be wasted because of some theme you don't like.
(actually if you host a normal themed server then people could still argue so maybe this isn't a valid point)

The main question is in the title. I'd like you to vote in the poll and express your opinion in a post. I'd like to know your final decision on if I should host this or not for the upcoming weekend.

Suggestions & Requests / Bedroom clock numbers
« on: October 30, 2015, 10:12:16 AM »
an event that spawns the digits used in the bedroom/kitchen for the clocks.
maybe have options for size and color
there would also be events for changing the numbers that are displayed on the digits too
another event for adding the colon bit of the clock
I just think this'l be a fancy way to show the time or other number-related signs, like the text signs add-on

General Discussion / Themebuild! [OFFLINE]
« on: October 10, 2015, 11:54:13 AM »

Themebuild is a freebuild with a slight twist. The theme of the freebuild changes every 3 hours (maybe will be changed).
The themes work by gamemodes, so there's different add-ons loaded for each theme.
For example, the city theme would have road bricks whilst the space theme would have more emitters and events.
The amount of time left is displayed occasionally in chat and there's also a VCE global variable for getting the value for the amount of time left.
There's a save system, where an autosaver is running and when the theme changes, the server will load the latest save,
so the server's ready after rebooting.
    Rules:
    • Every build should fit within the theme, so for city, make modern city-type buildings, for space, make spaceships and so on.
    • Generally don't be annoying to others. There's a mute add-on in-place for annoying people.
    • Don't spam, either in chat or with bricks.
    • Any bad build can and will be destroyed. Save bricks on your client if you're paranoid.

Off Topic / What to do next with my computer?
    « on: October 08, 2015, 03:47:28 PM »
    Current PC Specs:

There's two things I want to do with my computer:
    Replace the PSU
    Get new graphics card

Currently I'm looking at this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-960-FTW-ACX-2-0-graphics-card-GF-GTX-690-2-GB-/131618133029
If anyone knows a cheaper version with the same power or higher, post.
If anyone thinks this may not work with my current build, post.

For the PSU, I'm not sure. If anyone knows stuff about stuff and could get me a PSU that works at a low price that is compatible with my current build with new GPU, that'l be great
I need to replace the PSU because I think my current one doesn't have enough power to be able to handle everything in my computer, it frequently reboots due to power surges.
That could also be because of heat, but I recently got a new fan and it has improved, yet the computer still reboots occasionally.

Is there some kind of limit?
