Off Topic / mcjob you good bro
« on: January 17, 2017, 12:48:37 PM »
this isn't a drama or anything just checkin to make sure you alright

You sound like a real shinning example of personality on this forum. I bet your snake finally cracked the 4-inch mark when you hit the "Post" button for that cracker remark.

Go on, have another one. I'm genuinely interested to count the amount of brain cells you're missing.
How to be popular in the Blockland Forums Off Topic section:

  • Browse the Off Topic section and select an appropriately spammy topic that already exists in the first two pages. The more recent, the better.
  • Lightly skim the OP to understand what "joke" the spam topic is trying to portray.
  • Create a new topic with a variation of the same joke, but reduce the quality of the spelling and grammar, and make sure to write a slimmer version of the post you read.
  • Wait.
  • Rake in the eRep.
Unlike all the sad loving sacks in this topic, I would be a responsible parent who'd teach my kid to swear freely, believe freely and make the fat stacks. Philosophy, psychology and being a bad-arse gamer would be top-tier subjects I'd teach before they'd hit Pre-School.

I'd be the goddam best Dad ever.

idk if the hot flashes are kicking in or what
id suggest maybe a spa day or somethin?

Games / Astroneer - Space shenanigans
« on: January 07, 2017, 08:32:26 PM »

Description

Developed by System Era Softworks, Astroneer puts the players in the shoes of interstellar engineers with tools capable of reshaping and exploring distant planets. Currently trending on Steam, this game manages to cater to many different styles of play, and has a great dev team to back it up. Currently in pre-alpha.

Features

Procedurally generated worlds- Each time you play is a different experience; spawn in a solar system and explore each world and what they have to offer. Every planet has a different biome, which means there are different resources and threats as well. Also explore caves that go well into the depths of the planet, and are home to valuable resources.

Terraforming- Shape the world with the terrain tool, which allows you to manipulate the world however you like. Both entertaining and useful.

Survival- Exploration is fun, but comes at a cost. Keep your oxygen levels stable, have a viable power supply, and don't get stranded. Evade hostile lifeforms and endure the hardships of mother nature.

Base building- Construct your base from raw materials gathered throughout the world, upgrade said base, and research new schemes to upgrade your operations. Starting with only your drop pod, how you design your home is up to you.

Vehicle customization- Build and customize vehicles, both ground-based and space vessels, to suit your needs. Mining tools, storage, power supply, colonizer, you can add and remove modules from your vehicles wherever you are. In addition to this, connect multiple vehicles together for more diverse and effective operations.

4 player co-op- Play with 4 friends! You'll probably kill each other on accident a lot, but its all part of the fun

Personally I love this game, and it has huge room for improvement. The devs are good, they do dev streams and have open forums for ideas and improvements to the game. Totally worth $20 imo, and if anyone has or gets this, I'd be down to do some co-op.

Creativity / the saga of declivity
« on: January 06, 2017, 10:46:49 AM »
The Saga of Declivity

i am writing a story that ill probably submit for a scholarship or something idk. the story takes place far into the future when space travel has been pretty well established, alien races are discovered, nations are established and all that ect ect. the story, for the most part, follows a highly intelligent automaton under command of a despotic nation called The Confederacy. "she" is a researcher who captains a ship (uls declivity) that is searching for and investigating interstellar beings called Leviathans.

the story is told completely through "logs", as if someone is reading through old data they came across (idk if this will be part of the story or not yet)

basically a space story with space monsters. ill be updating it sporadically, but please give feedback (:

NOTE: the first log isn't complete rn, i apologize for that. i had written that bit down on paper before moving over to docs

Games / elite dangerous, life is feudal, or the division
« on: November 27, 2016, 03:24:34 PM »
so its right around treat yo self oclock and im torn between which game to get (all are on sale). i want something i can put lots of time into, but not all at once (between work and school i dont have a lot of free time every day). life is feudal seems really fun, butttt ive kinda been turned off to these "early access open world survival" games based on past experiences, so i want to know if this brings anything new to the table.

i like space a lot, so ED is very attractive. i like harsh survival games and medieval games so LIF is attractive. i like squad based, multiplayer shooters (and its open world? dope yo) so the division is attractive. any suggestions from people who already own these games? and anyone who wants to play with me once i buy one just hmu

Off Topic / aight weebs suggest me some animes
« on: November 25, 2016, 07:17:58 PM »
ok so i watched an anime in a culture class im taking, and it was weird as stuff, but it was intriguing. idk what it was called, some dude was trying to save the spirits of the forest from humans building factories, and the humans were trying to kill the forest spirit and the animals got infected with a demon and stuff, dude forgeted some wolfgirl idk

point is, i want to watch another one and see if i find it interesting. ive never watched anything anime (unless pokemon counts idk) so i have no knowledge about it. im looking for something war themed (any time period) or with cool battle scenes (large scale if possible), and not really over the top or fantasy-esque.

thanks in advance for the help (forgot to mention no hentai thanks)

Games / Tiger Knight: Empire War (dynasty warriors/mount and blade)
« on: November 06, 2016, 02:07:43 PM »
im too lazy to make a full topic, but this game is essentially a mix between dynasty warriors and mount and blade. its f2p, does a good job at not being p2w. you control a troop of soldiers, and can upgrade them with new equipment, skills, ect. you control a hero character, and can play conquest (pvp 5v5), siege (pvp 5v5), epic war (pve 5vE), or tdm (pvp 10v10 or something with no troops).

there are (currently) 3 factions and each specializes in different soldier types (wu: blunt heavy infantry, wei: spears, shu: cavalry and shield). the upgrade/leveling system is similar to world of tanks, fractured space, any of those types of games where you unlock equipment with xp and buy it with in game currency won from battles. you then choose what path you want to go down for that faction. you can switch between factions at your leisure.

this game isn't high quality by any means, but honestly its fun af (especially for a free game), and i love the similarities it has to mount and blade. if you can get past the horrible english and bad physics, its p fun. its constantly being updated too, the newest faction they are adding will be the romans, and theyll be doing faction balances. currently the shu faction is kinda borked so i wouldnt suggest playing them (i made this mistake, its manageable but def at a disadvantage in most team fights)

wont make a whole thread on it, but its a great game, can be very challenging (on harder difficulties). its $20 on steam rn but well worth it. has modding support (lots of great mods) and is still being updated.

« on: June 26, 2016, 09:33:14 PM »
so ever since ive been playing guitar ive gotten more into rock/blues music. specifically songs such as this, "aint no rest for the wicked", songs that incorporate finger slides and have a kind of blues sound to them, things like that.

only thing is im not really sure what genre these songs are? if anyone could help me out that would be great. im trying to find more in the area, and if anyone has some good songs to suggest that would also be cool :-)

Off Topic / lets discuss the current state of the rap game
« on: June 26, 2016, 11:14:43 AM »
the mainstream is absolute garbage. i dont know if you guys have seen this years XXL freshman lineup, but its embarrasing. the only artist on there that puts out high quality music is anderson .paak. the freestyles were horrible (again, except for .paak). richardy tries to compensate for his lyrical inability with speed, kodak mumbles while looking like the most iced out crackhead to date, and desiigner loving snaps and sings like two lines. .paak is lightyears ahead of everyone else on there. denzel curry i think belongs on there because he has such a unique sound and got big by going out of the norm, but still he's not that great.

meanwhile youve got uzi, desiigner, yachty and kodak pushing out garbage (richardy doesnt even belong on there, he's the same quality as lil b). good rappers are getting slept on, while meanwhile washed up rappers like kanye are getting love (tlop did not deliver at all, that album was more of a statement than anything, cool project but save for a couple songs it was an overall disappointment).

im hoping futures "ET" will deliver with some certified bangers, kudder will go back to his MOTM sound (do we even have to mention his suicidal stuffty rock album), and childish gambinos project will be good. also we need a new A$AP album. interested to see how vic mensa's next project goes as well.

thoughts/general opinions?

Games / wildstar - mmorpg
« on: June 16, 2016, 01:40:38 PM »
im not gonna make a whole detailed topic about this because mmorpgs dont seem to be popular around here (with the exception of runescape)

their homepage: http://www.wildstar-online.com/en/
official trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDaao0gExZU

it just got added to steam a little while ago as a free-to-play, been around since 2014. its very complete and well put together, kind of a goofy/dark humor feel to it set in the future (spaceships, lasers, ect). also has a house building feature which is p cool for you creative types. not grindy imo, nothing is pay-to-win, all in-game purchases are purely cosmetic as far as i can tell (with the exception of the "jumpstart" pack which you can instantly unlock housing and get ingame currency and some cosmetics (it took me about two days to unlock housing so its really not an advantage)

if youre interested, ill add your name to the OP, I have one level 14 warrior and one level 11~ esper.

Games / Istrolid - F2P Spacship Design RTS Game
« on: May 11, 2016, 07:21:38 PM »

Description

In Istrolid you design your own unique spaceships from a large number of parts to fit your strategy and play style. With no set units or factions you are free to create a fleet where each ship has its own balanced strengths and weaknesses, from basic fighters and bombers to hulking battleships and speedy destroyers.

Gamemodes

Campaign

In the Campaign mode, you fight your way through the galaxy, traveling from planet to planet, wiping out each enemy fleet in intense RTS combat. You start with the basic materials needed to build spacecrafts, and each planet conquered grants you new materials to use. These include more powerful weapons, weapon mounts, thrusters, hull pieces, and so on. You build your own fleet from the ground up, and often have to alter your designs to fight increasingly difficult and more complex opponents.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer allows you to play other human players in either 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3 RTS battles. In multiplayer mode, there is no restriction on what parts are available, build to your hearts content. The only restriction is that the ship can not be more expensive then $1000. Plays the same as campaign, first to lose all of the control points loses.

Challenges

Challenges are pretty gay imo, its basically just AI fleets from the campaign battles. Go for it if you want.

Ship Design

You are 100% in charge of creating your fleet to fit your playstyle. You can design your ships in any shape, style or fashion that you want. You are given parts that you are allowed to place however and wherever you want on your ship, and are allowed up to 10 designs per fleet. Weapons range from close range, low damage laser beams, to long distance homing rockets. Different weapons mounts provide a balance between effectiveness and cost (360 degree mount opposed to a 180 degree mount). Different types of thrusters fit different ship styles.

Some of the limitations in ship design are:

Weight - Effects your speed and turn rate, countered with wings and thrusters. Every part added to your ship adds weight, especially hull armor. Certain parts are specifically designed to be lighter, but usually cost more and/or are less effective (example: batteries, fighter armor).

Power - Every weapon, shield, thruster, ect. uses up power. Batteries store a limited amount of power, while generators produce power at a certain rate. Its important to have a good balance between how much power is produced, and how much is used by both your weapons system and thrusters.

Cost - Every part costs a certain amount. Better parts cost more, and sometimes you have to sacrifice effectiveness for affordability. The game limits a ship cannot cost more than $1000, so there's no gigantic star destroyers flying around.
