This seems cool. Also, I'm actually really proficient in grammar if you'd like me to read your work when you've finished one of the short stories.
Seriously, things like dangling modifiers and incorrectly used clauses can mess up the mood of writing.

I think you should write a space novel (in regards to space battle) about the first ACTUAL space mission. (being fictional of course)
The first space travel could be written as actually being an "accident" where somehow a freak accident with national socialist technology throws a German Destroyer and U.S. Submarine into space far from earth. The shaken people on both vessels who survived have to combine their ships tech and supplies to make a working vessel to return to earth. Old iron Diver suits would be my thought for what they could use to survive outside of the ships. As they travel back to earth, they will meet species, collect new technologies to improve their scrap ship and have conflicts in the space voyage that would write the story in between that time. The best part is that would enable your story to be written out in episodes. And occasionally you could have dark conflicts with the two different crews who still act like they are at war with each other even though they have to survive together. IN the end, the first spacetravel would never be recorded into historical records. :o
Oh thats not a bad idea. Problem is, I don't think that would make a good series, but seeing as you said novel, it makes sense. I will probably do that eventually, but I want to stick to space series for now.
