there's been a conspiracy floating around the last couple of decades of the south korean president being in the pocket of some rich families -- namely those who own brands like samsung, honda, etc. well, today that's proven to be entirely true. the presidents of south korea are usually very robotic and strange, leading to the conspiracy's conception, but the real zinger is when a stash of emails linking the executive office to a shadow government consisting of 8 oligarchs known as the heavenly fairies was discovered, revealing that the oligarchs would tell the south korean president what to say, what to wear, who to speak to, etc. every single day. this connection has been existent for 50+ years, by the way.

there are currently mass protests happening across the country demanding their president's resignation, and the president has responded by demanding an end to the protests and firing her own cabinet members. you can imagine the field day north korea's gonna have with this.

russian state media released images of the RS-28 sarmat today, known by NATO forces as the satan 2. the hypersonic thermonuclear intercontinental ballistic missile carries 10-16 warheads with yields upwards of 40 megatons apiece -- each nearly the size of the tsar bomba. the satan 2 boasts technology capable of outrunning american missile defense systems and possesses enough power to flatten the state of texas (roughly the size of france, for our european forumers).

remember that this is coming from the russian state media and there's really no solid way to verify the legitimacy of these claims, but still. be aware.

duterte's been beating around the bush lately, but he was in beijing today and announced his country's separation from US influence, instead aligning with the chinese and quipping if he could form an axis with putin as well. duterte called obama a "son of a whore" again during his declaration, but no official liquidation of military or economic treaties have been submitted. the philippines will no longer be an american puppet -- just a chinese one.

the rifles used by filipino police and such are of the american maker sig sauer. the US recently decided to halt a deal which would turn over 26,000 rifles for the assumed purpose of culling additional "addicts" in the ongoing filipino drug war.

president duterte is upset over the development, saying he'll open up arms trade with russia instead and that "we have a lot of explosives here" -- an archaic but presumed threat against the US.

about three days ago, CIA drowned 58 people in mosul to put down a rebellion. two days later, the iraqi army began its offensive to retake the city, the capital and birthplace of CIA and its movement. iraqi forces have been serious gains in the opening hours of the fight, but peshmerga commanders say the battle could last for two months or more due to the sheer scale of the city. additionally, CIA has tactically retreated to the inner areas of the city, causing iraqi forces to walk right into boobytrapped roads and ambush deadzones.

CIA peacekeepers in mosul staged a coup against abu bakr al-baghdadi, the caliph of the islamic state, but failed. the coup's leader was executed and the organization disbanded as baghdadi has reportedly escaped to raqqa. regardless, the fight to take mosul rages on.

mass executions of dissidents are currently underway as CIA prepares to fight to the death.

four days ago, US navy destroyer Mason was forced to invoke missile defense protocol when two missiles were fired by yemen. the USS Mason was passing nearby the country's coast when the two undersea missiles were launched. today, the same ship was attacked. the pentagon has concluded the attacks were conducted by the "houthi rebel" faction, an iran-backed shiite group which seized control of the country back in 2015, and pledges to strike back.

the yemeni civil war is a bit of a proxy conflict between saudi arabia and iran. the houthis, backed by iran, took over the yemeni government in 2015 and still control it today. saudi arabia's currently at war with yemen to help reinstate their own puppet of the hadi dynasty. this event has already been suspected as conspiracy to US intervention on behalf of saudi arabia.

a treaty limiting nuclear material possession between the powers was cancelled today at the behest of russian president vladimir putin, who cited american infidelity on their side of the deal as their casus belli. the deal encompassed the destruction of weapons-grade plutonium to prevent it from being used in nuclear weapons and had kept the two superpowers from kickstarting a new arms race, but those days are over.

in other news, the US suspended all diplomatic contact with russia regarding the syrian crCIA, perhaps as a consequence of the plutonium cancellation but also perhaps as a consequence of the syrian army's increased aggression in the civil war. regardless, the civil war has now returned to its fractured self with no cooperation or end in sight.

so the french submitted a resolution to the UN to halt all airstrikes in syria and establish a giant no-fly zone. humanitarian would be trucked in during the interim and the truce would eventually evolve into a peace (sound familiar?) but russia vetoed the move. russia then submitted the exact same deal but without halting airstrikes or creating a no-fly zone, however their resolution didn't receive enough votes and as such was defeated. so the civil war rages on.

china, venezuela, and a few other countries have thrown their weight behind russia's decision to veto the measure, saying the french peace didn't address rebel activity and thus allowed the US to secretly pursue a regime change in syria despite the peace. other countries like the UK and US stand behind the french and condemn the russian veto.

the colombian government has been fighting a marxist-leninist terrorist group known as FARC for the past 52 years, seeing nearly a quarter million casualties (many of which civilian). a few weeks ago, the colombian president and ringleader of FARC met and ratified a peace deal. many nations had pledged large installments of money to be gifted to colombia to help with rebuilding (the US pledging some $300 million, for example) and the world bank had offered to drop loan interest rates from 4% to 0.5%.

however, unlike in the US, where the senate has the final say on treaties, in colombia it is the people. and the people voted 50.2% NO to 49.8% YES -- a difference of 63,000 votes in a total count of over 13 million. in other words, the acceptance of the deal by the president has no power -- it is the referendum. the rejection of this peace is a shock to everyone, as even FARC began packing up their bags and returning land to the government. looks like peace won't come today, however.

I made a thread one month ago about the filipino drug war and the casualties it had amassed -- 710. at the time of writing this, that number is hovering above 3,000. but this thread isn't about the ongoing drug war, it's about president duterte's recent disrespect for his country's longtime ally the united states.

last month he called the US ambassador to the philippines a "gay son of a whore," and just last week called obama a "son of a bitch." this week, he has demanded the US remove its special forces and soldiers occupying bases around the country as well as cease patrolling its nearby waters. duterte has also announced that two nations (assumed to be russia and china) were willing to open up a 25 year loan account for weapons. since 1951, the US has accounted for roughly 75% of the philippines' arms imports, but duterte has made his sentiment towards the former overlord quite apparent: no more US, china instead.

tl;dr : philippines demand US stop being a part of their defense so that the philippines can warm up to china

duterte claims he is railing against the west because of their injustices against the philippines, but if the arms trade is anything to go by, he's clearly burning bridges so the philippines can fall within china's sphere of influence.

morning in aleppo was met with over a dozen airstrikes, many of which are suspected to have been carried out by russian warplanes -- syrian govt, at best. many dead still lie within the streets of the nearly 40 buildings destroyed by the raid, preventing their numbers from properly being calculated. casualty reports place the civilian deaths anywhere between 14 and 70 people.

the airstrikes came right before the syrian army began an offensive to drive pro-US elements out of aleppo and retake the city for the syrian government. state media has urged civilians trapped in the city to avoid mingling with terrorists (pro-US rebels) operating in the area.
