Thanks man. Hopefully a video will come out tonight. I just want to get the sound effects and an emitter attached to my gun before I record anything.
I'll probably do testing over the weekend. Any of ya'll free tomorrow afternoon? It won't take long, though having multiple people online at once is good, I don't feel like having to give everyone a tour separately.

Yeah but that's kinda unoptimized, it's a good temporary patch but it's not a real fix.
I mean my mod allows you to set the x and y size for each particle individually. So just make a really wide and short dot and call it a line.
I hope you keep the function to allow giant smiling rectangles to fall from the sky

I'd be on board, but I don't like the idea of using an engine like Unity. The biggest problem with Blockland imo is the limitations placed on it by the Torque engine. I have no idea what limitations Unity would actually place, as I have no experience with it, but I do know that without an engine the only limitation is your own skill level.

I'm genuinely sorry dude, i think your project is really cool, one of the first things i actually decided i wanted in my game, after the 3d blocks, was direct compatibility with Blockland Addons and BLS' and that's exactly what you did right off, I was actually thinking about coming to you and asking you for help in doing the same. I think you said LoD was written in C++? I think it'll be easyer to make Addons work with my game because, like Blockland, Bricktopia is written in C#; it's just a matter of translating the Torque Script stuff.
Hey so I wasn't really criticizing you. I just felt the need to post my sodium chloride levels for the internet to see. Hopefully posting a video tonight and a demo tomorrow will give my topic some new activity. If not I could always stir up some drama /s
If I may give you a pointer though, just because your game is made in C# doesn't mean it'll somehow be easier to parse C# scripts for add-ons. You're still going to either need to get a interpreting library like I did for LUA or write your own.

of course your game "just so happen" to have to have a similar title has MY game blocktopia which has been in development since 2008 but NO ONE ever PM'd me before making they're games or posting the threads
Excuse me, but I made a game called blocktopia back in 2014. Be careful or I might sue.
calling it now - yin yang will spend all his time trying to be better than ghost due to some weird obsession of his and abandons his project after realizing it takes actual work and he cant just post screenshots to soak up that free attention from people. (which, ghost also posted screenshots, but also he actually seems competent to make an actual thing)

This whole project seems to be more "be better than ghost" than "create an interesting and fun game".
That seems really harsh dude, let's see where his game goes first.






Also, I'm really salty that even *this* topic managed to get far more activity than my own.
Maybe it's the name.

So far I've fixed a bunch of little things like the names above heads being misaligned and some transparency sorting issues.
I've also gotten emitters working with the exact same parameters as blockland and made a script to export emitter (and particle) datablocks to a file as lua script for instant importing into my game.
That means that particles, emitters, brick types, and save files can all be imported into my game from Blockland so far.

Tomorrow at the latest I should have a new video up.
I'll also change the pictures in OP to be less trash and probably rename the topic, be sure to vote on your favorite name.

Yeah, it's possible. That said, for a death animation I was probably just going to have the blockhead fall to pieces, like in Roblox.
what graphics library and what collada library are you using? im making my own engine too and the animation part has me completly stumped
It's the open asset importer library that I used for collada.



Anyway, I'm working on getting emitters to work in such a way that I can directly take emitters from Blockland add-ons. The hope is today or tomorrow to get the gun actually working and shooting projectiles. Once that happens I'll post a new video with player animations, projectiles, and updated emitters. Later this week I hope to post a client/server for y'all to test.
